Nowadays, most people know that liver cancer is a serious tumor disease with a very high mortality rate, and they are very afraid of getting this disease. However, they do not know what causes this disease, so they do not know how to prevent liver cancer. If you want to prevent the occurrence of the disease, you must understand the factors related to the disease, especially for liver cancer, you must do a better job of preventing it. So let's take a look at some common knowledge about liver cancer from the following examples: In 1960, 100,000 turkeys in the UK suddenly died within a few months. Investigations found that the feed contained peanut powder imported from Brazil. Further investigations found that Brazilian peanuts were contaminated with mold containing aflatoxin. This incident made people realize the carcinogenic effect of aflatoxin. In my country, liver cancer high-incidence areas (such as Qidong, Jiangsu, and Fusui, Guangxi) have been found to have serious aflatoxin contamination in local food; and in Africa, liver cancer high-incidence areas (such as Uganda), investigations have found that local food (such as corn, etc.) is contaminated with aflatoxin. Therefore, epidemiological research evidence shows that aflatoxin contamination in food is closely related to the occurrence of liver cancer. Scientists in my country have successfully induced liver cancer in rats by feeding them moldy peanuts and corn, which further proves that moldy food can induce liver cancer. The corn, soybeans, peanuts, etc. we eat are easily contaminated by aflatoxin. Long-term consumption of foods containing this toxin is prone to liver cancer. Aflatoxin contamination of food can occur in multiple links during harvesting, storage and processing. Therefore, the management of these links should be strengthened, such as the storage environment should be dry and ventilated, and the storage time should not be too long. If aflatoxin contamination or mildew is found in food, it should not be eaten. Where does liver cancer come from? The key to liver cancer prevention and treatment is to discover and prevent the causes of liver cancer, early detection and reasonable treatment. So, how does liver cancer form? Cause: Related to hepatitis B, C, and D viruses Researchers have confirmed that hepatitis B, C and D viruses, which are mainly transmitted through blood, are closely related to liver cancer, while hepatitis A virus, which is transmitted through food, has nothing to do with liver cancer. There are 120 million hepatitis B surface antigen carriers in my country, accounting for about 30% of the world's population. Among them, 3 million will develop chronic hepatitis, about 300,000 will develop cirrhosis, and eventually some hepatitis B patients will develop liver cancer. The transformation process of liver cancer is roughly as follows: hepatitis B → chronic hepatitis → liver cirrhosis → liver cancer. According to statistics, about 70-80% of liver cancer patients are related to hepatitis B, about 15-20% are related to hepatitis C and D, and the other 5% of liver cancer patients may be related to alcoholism, parasitic infection, and long-term use of birth control pills. Prevent hepatitis first Therefore, to prevent liver cancer, we must first prevent viral hepatitis. There are four ways of infection for hepatitis B: Mother-to-child transmission. It is generally believed that about 1/3 (about 30 million) of hepatitis B surface antigen carriers are from mother-to-child transmission. Due to early infection, more than 90% develop into chronic infection. Studies have shown that the risk of chronic infection in children under 6 years old is about 30%, while only 5% of those infected in adults become chronic. Blood transmission and medical transmission are also important routes of transmission through blood, such as blood transfusion or use of blood products, hemodialysis, accidental puncture by needles or scalpels, sharing razors and toothbrushes, tattoos, tooth fillings, etc. Sexual contact transmission: The semen of male hepatitis B surface antigen carriers is contagious. Condoms must be used during sexual intercourse. The virus can also be transmitted through damaged oral mucosa and insect bites. There are still few patients with hepatitis C and D in my country. It is transmitted through the blood, mainly through blood transfusion. Hepatitis B vaccination In my country, one in ten people have hepatitis B. It is impossible to avoid contact with the hepatitis virus in daily life. Fortunately, a safe and effective hepatitis B vaccine has been developed, and the success rate of inducing protective antibodies after injection is over 97%. my country has promoted the vaccination program for infants and children, and it is expected that the incidence of liver cancer will drop significantly in 20 years. |
