Can B-ultrasound detect prostate cancer? Combined three tests to detect prostate cancer

Prostate cancer refers to an epithelial malignant tumor that occurs in the prostate gland. It is extremely harmful to the human body. When cancer develops to the late stage, it is difficult to cure. Prostate cancer is often prone to bone metastasis, which can cause bone pain or pathological fractures. In severe cases, it can be life-threatening. At the same time, the disease is also prone to induce many complications, such as acute seminal vesiculitis, vas deferens, acute urinary retention, etc. Therefore, timely diagnosis and treatment are very necessary.

So can B-ultrasound detect prostate cancer? The answer is no, because B-ultrasound is only an auxiliary method. The cancer detected by B-ultrasound alone is not specific enough, and the results are not rigorous. It can only be used as a screening method.

Here are three effective examination methods. Combining these three methods can easily detect whether you have prostate cancer. Let’s take a look.

1. Serum PSA test

Normally, the PSA level in the blood is lower than 4 micrograms/ml. However, when you have prostate cancer or other prostate diseases, the value will increase. Therefore, when the PSA level exceeds 4 micrograms/ml, you need to recheck it. During the recheck, a rectal examination will not be performed. If the value is still elevated and other diseases are excluded, it can be concluded that you may have prostate cancer.

2. Transrectal Ultrasound

This detection method is to place the ultrasonic probe directly into the human rectum. Through ultrasonic detection, the nodules of the lesions can be clearly seen, thereby determining whether there is prostate cancer. Transrectal ultrasound examination will affect the value of serum PSA examination and should be performed after blood drawing.

3. Prostate biopsy

This method is the most direct one. Through this examination, it can be found whether there are cancer cells in the prostate area. If there are, it is basically prostate cancer.

The above three methods have their own characteristics. When combined, they can more accurately determine whether a patient has prostate cancer. At the same time, these methods are harmless to the human body, so you can rest assured to do the test. In addition, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer, don't be too depressed. Maintaining a good mood is helpful to alleviate the condition.
