What are the symptoms of late stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma?

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors in recent years, posing a certain threat to human health. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma refers to a malignant tumor of the nasopharyngeal mucosal epithelium and glands, often occurring at the top of the posterior wall of the nasopharynx.

The late symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma include:

First: Eye symptoms: If the tumor invades the orbit or eyeball-related nerves, patients with advanced NPC may experience visual impairment or even blindness, visual impairment, diplopia, protrusion of the eyeball and limited movement, neuroparalytic keratitis, etc. Fundus examination can reveal optic nerve atrophy and edema. Most of these manifestations are symptoms of advanced NPC, but some patients with advanced NPC still receive treatment.

Second: Symptoms of cranial nerve damage: As nasopharyngeal tumors infiltrate the surrounding areas, any cranial nerve may be compressed, among which the trigeminal nerve, hypoglossal nerve, etc. are the most common.

Third: Nosebleed or epistaxis retraction nosebleed is one of the manifestations of late-stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma symptoms. Because cancer cells grow in the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cavity, friction may even cause nosebleeds.

Fourth: Once cachexia patients reach the late stage, they will experience many unexpected cachexia symptoms and may even suddenly bleed and die.
