What is the best diet for gastric cancer chemotherapy

What is the best diet for gastric cancer chemotherapy?

1. For chemotherapy drugs for gastric cancer patients, if the FOL-FOX regimen is chosen, a chemotherapy drug called oxaliplatin will be used. The precautions during chemotherapy with oxaliplatin are to avoid using cold water as much as possible, do not drink cold drinks or cold water, and try to use warm water to wash your hands, and avoid contact with cold things, otherwise there may be side effects such as numbness of hands and feet. This is something you need to pay attention to. There is nothing special to pay attention to, it is similar to usual.

2. Chemotherapy drugs for gastric cancer can easily cause nausea and vomiting. It takes a week for the drugs to be metabolized and excreted. Liquid diet should be given 1 to 3 days after chemotherapy, about 200 ml each time, 6 to 8 meals a day. Dietary principles: non-irritating food, less residue, small meals, such as egg soup, rice soup, vegetable soup, etc.; the daily sugar content in the diet should not exceed 100-120 grams, and fat and high carbohydrates should be limited to avoid stimulating bile secretion, large amounts of fluid exuding from the intestinal mucosa, and symptoms such as diarrhea.

Is advanced gastric cancer contagious?

Late-stage gastric cancer refers to the metastasis of cancer cells to distant organs and tissues through the blood and lymphatic pathways. This metastasis only occurs within the patient's own body and will not enter the bodies of other patients. Even if these cancer cells enter the bodies of other patients, they will not be able to survive. Therefore, both early-stage and late-stage gastric cancer are not contagious.

Gastric cancer is not contagious. Patients with advanced gastric cancer may experience metastasis to other tissues and organs, but gastric cancer has a certain genetic tendency.
