Is advanced liver cancer contagious?

Liver cancer is a common malignant tumor in clinical practice. The clinical symptoms of early patients are not too obvious. After the disease progresses, patients will experience pain in the middle and upper abdomen, jaundice, ascites, abdominal distension, etc. At this time, most of them are mid-to-late stage liver cancer. Late stage liver cancer accompanied by hepatitis B or hepatitis C and in the hepatitis replication stage can be transmitted through blood, sexual contact and mother-to-child transmission, and is contagious to a certain extent. Late stage liver cancer is not contagious.

Why do patients with advanced liver cancer always sleep?

Insomnia in the late stage of hepatocellular carcinoma is often caused by liver tumors causing liver function impairment or even liver failure, which in turn causes elevated blood ammonia in the body, leading to hepatic encephalopathy and hepatic coma. Patients can have blood drawn to check blood ammonia levels. High blood ammonia levels require medication to lower blood ammonia, such as arginine injection. People who always sleep in the late stage of liver cancer are extremely weak, but be alert to other causes, such as cirrhosis and hepatic coma caused by liver cancer.

What are the symptoms of mid-stage liver cancer?

The symptoms of liver cancer in the middle stage include obvious pain in the liver area, accompanied by fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, which worsens after eating. There will also be abdominal distension, and even fever and diarrhea. Liver cancer is generally asymptomatic in the early stages. Patients usually seek medical treatment because of the appearance of mid-stage symptoms. In the middle stage, patients will feel severe discomfort in the liver area and pain.

The staging of liver cancer is based on the size of the tumor, the patient's general condition, whether there has been vascular invasion, and whether metastasis has occurred. More manifestations may be gastrointestinal symptoms, including symptoms of cirrhosis, and the patient may not even feel any discomfort.
