When autumn and winter come, most areas are very cold. In order to keep warm, down jackets are almost indispensable thermal insulation products. Every year at this season, many manufacturers will launch many new down jackets. There are many styles of these down jackets. In order to keep up with the trend, many people buy down jackets every year. Most down jackets have zippers on them. So if the zipper on the down jacket is broken, can it be replaced with a new one? Can the zipper of a down jacket be replaced? First, remove the old zipper. You can cut the needle and thread intermittently and then remove it slowly. Prepare a new zipper, preferably of the right length, or at least not too short, because if it is too long it is easy to deal with, but if it is too short it will be troublesome. First, use green thread to secure the new zipper to the jacket by simply sewing a few stitches. Start sewing from the bottom left side of the jacket, and the stitches should be finer and denser. When sewing to the top, cut off the extra zipper part at an angle, and then slowly stuff it into the seam of the jacket. Sew the right side in the same way. The right side can’t be fixed, so sewing is a bit complicated. Similarly, cut off the overgrown part and sew it into the gap. Use scissors to remove the stitching and thread ends used to fix the jacket and tidy up the jacket. Look, the new zipper of the cotton jacket has been replaced. The zippers of new clothes are usually stiff and not smooth. If you pull them hard, the teeth will be damaged. At this time, you can apply paraffin wax on the zipper and move the slider back and forth several times, and it will become smooth! If you wear a lot in winter, your clothes will stretch out a little. At this time, the zipper will be subjected to greater force, which will have a great impact on the zipper head! It is easy to pull up the clothes by holding the left and right sides together with your hands. Sometimes when you pull it down or up, the zipper head may bite the thread segment or down fabric. If you use too much force, it will cause an irreversible situation! Just gently pull the stuck fabric outwards and push the slider back in. Sometimes bending over or doing strenuous activities after putting on clothes can cause the zipper to stretch in the middle. This is because the slider has been used for too long and the diameters on both sides have become larger. You can use pliers to gently clamp the tail of the slider, but remember not to use too much force. If there is no big problem, you can use it. If it still doesn’t work after clamping, consider changing the slider! Finally, let me tell you some tips on replacing zipper heads! First, use pliers to pull out the large gold teeth on both sides of the zipper on the clothes, then pull the zipper to the top, but make sure the teeth on both sides are merged together. If the slider is broken, merge the teeth that are not merged together by hand! Then put the new zipper lock in. This may be difficult, so cut a small hole near the top diameter line. Finally, after the zipper lock is put in, just install the big gold tooth. |
