What are the symptoms of late-stage lymphoma and how to provide care?

The more advanced the lymphoma is, the more psychological pressure the patient will bear, so at this time, the care of family members and friends is particularly needed. So, what are the symptoms of advanced lymphoma? How to take care of it?

The clinical manifestations of lymphoma are very inconsistent. The primary site can be in the lymph nodes or in the extranodal lymphoid tissue. Primary lesions in extranodal lymphoid tissue are more common in NHL.

The main symptoms of late stage lymph node disease are:

1. Lymph node enlargement, including superficial and deep lymph nodes, characterized by progressive, painless, hard, and movable enlargement of lymph nodes, which are not adhered to each other in the early stage, but can fuse in the late stage, and anti-inflammatory and anti-tuberculosis treatments are ineffective.

2. Emaciation. Most patients experience weight loss, with a reduction of more than 10% of their original body weight within 6 months.

3. Fever, mostly irregular, often between 38-39°C. Some patients may have continuous high fever, intermittent low fever, and a few have periodic fever.

As for the care of advanced patients, the key to the care of lymphoma is diet. Patients often experience anorexia, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomach discomfort and bloating after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. At this time, according to the advice of nutritionists, a variety of recipes should be formulated, and the color, aroma, taste and shape should be good as much as possible. Give high-calorie, high-protein, vitamin-rich, easily digestible food, and drink plenty of water.

The skin of patients with lymphoma should be kept clean and scrubbed with warm water every day. In particular, the skin in the radiotherapy area should be protected and all irritants such as sunlight, heat and cold, various disinfectants, soaps, adhesive tapes, etc. should be avoided. Underwear should be made of soft cotton fabrics with strong water absorption and should be loose.
