There are little red spots on my arms

Human skin is naturally flawless, but with the passage of time, human skin will undergo various changes. Some people have small red spots on their arms. Some people may think that this is nothing, but many times it cannot be ignored. It is not harmless to health, but it will undergo tremendous changes over time, especially under the influence of some diseases. Therefore, small red spots on the arms must be treated in time, otherwise, it is difficult to avoid greater harm.

What are the little red spots on my arms?

If you find small red spots on your arms, don't ignore them. Sometimes they may be early symptoms of certain diseases, such as liver disease, skin disease, etc. You should be especially careful about liver disease, so it is best to go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible to avoid causing serious illness.

There is a type of nevus whose central part is slightly higher than the skin surface and has many capillaries extending outward around it. It is called a spider nevus. It is mainly seen in patients with cirrhosis and treatment should be targeted at the cause.

Another type of red spots on the skin are manifestations of subcutaneous bleeding, which are bright red at first, gradually turn purple after two or three days, and then turn yellowish brown, and eventually disappear without leaving any trace.

There are small red spots on my arms, and I have to consider keratosis of the hair follicles, which is related to heredity and there is no cure. Keratosis pilaris is a very common skin problem. It is a dominant genetic disorder of keratinization metabolism. There is a 50% chance that it will be passed on to the next generation. The symptoms usually become obvious from adolescence, and become less and less obvious by the age of 30 or 40. Generally speaking, there will be no sequelae.

Its incidence rate is as high as 40% to 50%. It mainly occurs on the outer side of the upper arm and the extensor side of the thigh. In severe cases, it may even occur on the outer side of the elbow and the extensor side of the calf. It looks like there is keratin accumulation at the opening of the hair follicles. In severe cases, there may be redness or swelling around the area, which may make people mistakenly think that they have many blackheads and inflamed pimples on their arms or thighs. However, if you squeeze it forcefully, it will cause red spots.

If the pores are red and even feel raised to the touch, this is keratosis pilaris. In more serious cases, the pores will be darker in color, appearing dark red or brown, and the particles will be rougher, looking like goose bumps. The most common areas where it appears are the outer side of the upper arms, thighs, and neck. Some people even have symptoms of follicular keratosis on their entire back and cheeks.

Follicular keratosis is a physical condition caused by congenital genes. People with this physique will have thickened keratin around the hair follicles, causing the follicle openings to be blocked by the excessive keratin, resulting in small bumps. Some patients with atopic dermatitis and ichthyosis often also suffer from keratosis pilaris.

The symptoms will be more severe in winter because it is related to keratinization of hair follicles and thickening of cuticles. Therefore, when the climate is drier and colder, the thickening of cuticles will be aggravated, making the symptoms more obvious.

When you find a small problem on your skin, such as small red spots on your arms, although you can apply some ointment, you may also have some allergic reactions. Therefore, it is best to go to the hospital to check what is causing the small red spots so that you can prescribe the right medicine. This way, treatment and recovery will be easier and you won't have to take too many detours.
