If the stones are located in the superficial part of the liver, the intrahepatic bile duct is opened through the liver parenchyma, the stones are removed, and a T-tube is placed or biliary enteric drainage is performed.

Although surgery is the most effective method for treating intrahepatic bile duct stones, patients must be aware that some patients may experience infection after surgery, and some patients may experience bile duct obstruction.
