Will removing a mole leave a scar?

Almost everyone has moles on their face. Some people's moles are not very obvious, while some people have a lot of moles on their faces. Many women who love beauty attach great importance to moles on their faces. They will remove the moles. Now there are many ways to remove moles. Many women want to remove moles, but are afraid of leaving scars. So, will removing moles leave scars? Let's take a look at the introduction below.

Moles are what we call moles. There are good moles and bad moles. For some bad moles, many people want to remove them in time to avoid any impact on their future life. Some people have many moles on their faces, and there are many questions about removing moles. So, will removing moles leave scars?

Whether scarring will occur depends on the method used to remove the mole. Commonly used treatments for melanocytic nevi include surgical excision, laser and cryotherapy. Surgical excision is suitable for various melanocytic nevi and the treatment is more thorough, while laser and cryotherapy are suitable for localized superficial melanocytic nevi. Surgical treatment of melanotic nevus is to completely remove the nevus and then suture it, but scars will be left after the operation; freezing method for nevus removal may leave scars due to excessive treatment dose, too high temperature of the cooling head and insufficient cooling of the skin, or improper self-care after surgery; laser nevus removal should not be exposed to water within one week, and do not tear off the scab with your hands to avoid leaving scars.

Generally speaking, mature moles will not become malignant, such as hairy moles, which are generally mature moles. Therefore, hairy moles generally will not become malignant. If a junctional nevus appears in an adult, it is likely to be an immature nevus and there is a chance of malignant transformation.

Pigmented moles that occur on the palms, soles of the feet, waist belt, shoulders and backs of women where they are often rubbed by bra straps can easily induce cancer due to repeated friction or irritation. In addition, some people believe that if pigmented nevi are not treated thoroughly, the nevus cells may be stimulated and may induce cancer. Therefore, all of the above moles must be removed.

If other pigmented moles are likely to become malignant, there are often some signs that may appear:

1. A mole becomes red and inflamed around it for no other reason, or the color of the mole suddenly darkens;

2. The edges of a mole that was originally clear become blurred, or one side is clear and the other side is unclear, or the color of one side is darker and the other side is lighter;

3. The pigmented nevus suddenly grows larger in a short period of time;

4. The surface changes from smooth to rough, with erosion, exudation, bleeding, etc.;

5. If several small black spots suddenly appear around a black mole, that is, a satellite-like mole appears, you should be highly alert to the malignant transformation of this mole;

6. Moles generally do not cause any discomfort. However, if a mole suddenly causes itching or pain, you should be alert to the possibility of malignant transformation of the mole.

Pigmented moles usually appear before the age of 20-30 and gradually disappear after the age of 30 (except for facial moles). If a new mole appears at an older age, or a single mole suddenly grows larger and darker, you should pay attention to it.

Many patients do not know much about the precautions for skin care after mole removal or freckle removal. Some patients do not know what to pay attention to after mole removal, so the results are very different from what they expect, and may even become inflamed, or produce melanin, causing moles and spots to form again. Therefore, there are key points to note after mole removal that patients must understand and should pay attention to.

1. Keep the treated area as dry as possible for one week after removing moles or spots. Dry it gently with a clean towel as soon as possible after washing or contact with water.

2. After treating moles and spots, the treated area should be kept away from sunlight to prevent sunburn and pigmentation. Especially within 20 days after the scabs fall off, special attention should be paid to sun protection.

3. Pay attention to your diet and try to eat less sour and spicy foods, seafood, beef, mutton and other foods. Eat more foods containing vitamin C. You can also supplement vitamin C and vitamin E and take them according to the instructions.

4. Please do not scratch at will to avoid infection, which may lead to scars or pigmentation.

5. After mole removal treatment, a black scab will generally form on the applied area within 1-2 days, and the scab will fall off automatically in about 1-2 weeks. After the scab falls off, it is best if the skin where the scab falls off is white. If it is fresh red skin, the color will sometimes darken due to excessive sunlight exposure, and it will recover after a few months.

Will mole removal leave scars? Everyone should know that different moles should be treated differently. Some people do not leave any scars after mole removal, while others leave some scars. It all depends on the specific situation. However, everyone should still go to a regular place to have mole removal done. There are also some things to pay attention to after mole removal, such as not eating spicy food.
