Sequelae of minimally invasive ureteral calculi

Sequelae of minimally invasive ureteral calculi

Ureteral stones are a urinary disease that is very common in men, and it is mainly related to their physiological structure and eating habits. Once ureteral stones occur, many men will choose to undergo minimally invasive surgery for ureteral stones because they have a great impact on a man's normal urination ability. But what sequelae will occur after minimally invasive surgery for ureteral stones?

1. Sequelae of minimally invasive ureteral calculi

Generally speaking, ureteroscopic surgery can cause sequelae such as ureteral stenosis and infection.

2. Diet for patients with ureteral stones

1. Oxalate stones: Most of them are produced from food, and some can also be produced by endogenous mechanisms. Vegetables high in oxalic acid should be avoided in the diet, such as spinach, amaranth, water spinach, green garlic, onion, wild rice stem, and various bamboo shoots. Oral administration of folic acid 5 mg and pyridoxine 10 mg can prevent the conversion of glycine to oxalate. Patients with this type of stones should drink more water.

2. Phosphate stones: Because they are formed in alkaline urine, you should eat more acidic foods and limit foods high in calcium. Acidic foods such as livestock and poultry meat, fish, shrimp, eggs, grains, peanuts, etc.

3. Urate stones: They are caused by hyperuricemia, so you should avoid foods high in purine, such as animal offal, thick broth, mushrooms, peas, asparagus, sardines, anchovies, caviar, etc. You should eat more vegetables and fruits and drink more water to lower uric acid concentration.

4. Calcium salt stones: It is advisable to limit the intake of high calcium content milk, cheese, dried shrimps, etc. You should eat more acid-forming foods, such as meat, poultry and eggs, to make your urine acidic and drink plenty of water.

5. Cystine stones: Pay attention to limiting methionine and acidic foods (animal foods), eat more alkaline foods (plant foods) to make the urine alkaline, and drink plenty of water.

Principles of treatment of ureteral stones

1. Symptomatic treatment: antispasmodics, analgesia, fluid replacement, anti-inflammatory, and traditional Chinese medicine treatment.

2. Stone removal treatment is suitable for patients who can move around.

3. Litholytic treatment: taking medication, drinking plenty of water, adjusting urine pH, controlling diet types, etc.

4. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.
