Causes of gas poisoning

Gas poisoning is actually what we call carbon monoxide poisoning in our daily life. This type of poisoning is very harmful. If we are not careful, it can easily lead to breathing difficulties and even threaten our lives. However, gas poisoning is relatively common in our daily life and occurs frequently. Therefore, many friends want to know what causes gas poisoning.

In fact, if we want to eliminate and avoid gas poisoning, we should use gas correctly and pay attention to the circulation of indoor and outdoor air when using gas. If gas leaks, it will cause serious consequences. Here I will introduce to you the causes of gas poisoning.

Causes of gas poisoning

1. If the domestic coal is not installed in a chimney, or if the chimney is installed but is blocked or leaking, the indoor carbon monoxide concentration will increase;

2. Cooking meat or barbecuing in a charcoal hot pot indoors with doors and windows closed and poor ventilation can easily cause carbon monoxide to stay for too long;

3. A large amount of carbon monoxide will be produced at the fire scene;

4. Continuously starting the car with doors and windows closed in winter will produce a large amount of exhaust gas containing carbon monoxide;

5. Improper installation and use of gas water heater;

6. Homemade earth heating for heating, although it is separated from the coal stove, leakage and backdraft may cause gas poisoning;

7. Urban residents use pipeline gas, the carbon monoxide concentration in the pipeline is 25% to 30%. If the pipeline leaks, the switch is not tight, or the flame is extinguished during cooking, a large amount of gas will overflow, which may cause poisoning.

Symptoms of gas poisoning:

In the early stage of poisoning, the only symptom is headache, which will be followed by dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, palpitations, weakness in the limbs, and cherry red appearance of the skin and mucous membranes. In severe cases, there may be nausea, vomiting, and chest tightness, followed by drowsiness, coma, rapid breathing, low blood pressure, and even death.

Regarding the causes of gas poisoning, in fact, it is mostly related to the fact that we use charcoal hot pot or even barbecue indoors without paying attention to air circulation, etc., which causes poisoning. In addition, it may also be related to improper use in our lives. Therefore, never use coal in daily life without installing a chimney, and you must be very careful when installing some gas water heaters, otherwise it is easy to cause carbon monoxide poisoning.
