The 7 most common mistakes you make when taking a shower

Taking a bath is a pleasant thing. It not only helps people stay clean, but also washes away people's fatigue. However, there are some taboos in bathing. If we accidentally touch the taboos, it will be difficult to achieve the results we want.

Taking a bath can remove sweat, dirt and oil, eliminate fatigue, relax muscles and promote blood circulation, improve sleep, and enhance the skin's metabolism and disease resistance. However, taking a shower is not as simple as turning on the shower and taking a shower. Due to lack of common sense or making some careless mistakes, not only will the cleaning fail, but it may also affect your health.

1. Take a shower as soon as you wake up

Taking a shower after getting up early can promote brain excitement and ensure you are energetic for the whole day, but if you take a shower before eating breakfast, you can easily get dizzy or even suffer from hypoglycemic shock. If the water temperature is too high, blood vessels will dilate, causing insufficient blood supply to the brain and collapse.

Get up early and take a shower half an hour after breakfast.

2. Take a shower before bed

Hot water will rapidly raise body temperature and inhibit the secretion of melatonin in the brain. If you go to bed immediately after taking a shower, it will make it difficult to fall asleep. It is best to take a bath 2 hours before going to bed. If you can only take a bath before going to bed, you can apply a cold wet towel to your forehead for 5 minutes after bathing.

3. Take a bath after a full meal

You cannot take a bath on an empty stomach, nor after a full meal. Just after a meal, a large amount of blood gathers in the stomach. If you take a shower at this time, blood vessels throughout the body will dilate, blood flow to the skin and muscles will increase, which will affect digestion.

In addition, it is not advisable to take a bath after drinking, otherwise it will cause a drop in blood pressure, dizziness, general weakness, and even cause heart disease or cerebral stroke. It is recommended to take a bath 1 to 2 hours after a meal.

4. Wash from head to toe

The correct order of bathing should be: wash face → wash body → wash hair. This is because heat will expand the pores, and washing your face first can prevent dirt from clogging the pores. The direction of washing your face should be from the nose to the outside. When washing your body, you should start with the limbs away from the heart. If it is winter, you should warm your feet with hot water first.

When you first enter the bathroom, blood will be concentrated in the head. If you wash your hair immediately, it may cause poor blood flow in the head and induce cerebrovascular disease.

5. Use a lot of shower gel at one time

Shower gels generally contain lauramidopropyl betaine, which stimulates certain chemicals to penetrate the skin quickly. If you use shower gel excessively for a long time, these chemicals will be absorbed excessively by the body and will combine with calcium and iron, remaining in the subcutaneous tissue and causing dryness, allergic dermatitis, etc.

In addition, there is an antioxidant BHT in the shower gel. When this substance encounters lauryl amide propyl betaine, it will become extremely active. It is recommended to choose a shower gel that has no fragrance and simple functions. A one-yuan coin-sized amount is enough each time. If your body is not dirty, it is better to use only clean water. After washing, it is best to apply moisturizing lotion all over the body.

6. Rub the picture cleanly

The stratum corneum and lipid membrane on the skin surface together constitute the skin's barrier protection layer, which not only protects the body from external damage, but also prevents the loss of nutrients in the body, especially water. Rubbing hard with a bath towel will destroy this protective film. If you can hear a squeaking sound when you rub your skin with your fingers after washing, it means you have over-scrubbed it.

It is recommended to take a bath frequently instead of "washing repeatedly and rubbing hard". You can use a soft sponge dipped in shower gel to gently scrub, and only use a bath towel on areas with thick stratum corneum such as elbows and knees.

7. Water temperature is too high

Water temperature that is too high can easily destroy the oil on the skin surface, causing capillary dilation and aggravating the degree of skin dryness.

At the same time, it will increase the burden on the heart, because the blood vessels in the skin throughout the body will dilate significantly, causing a large amount of blood to flow to the skin all over the body, causing ischemia and hypoxia of the heart. The recommended water temperature is 24℃ to 29℃.
