What is the normal range of human blood pressure

What is the normal range of human blood pressure

When we go to the hospital for a physical check-up, our blood pressure will be checked. If the blood pressure is usually high or low, it will seriously affect our health and may cause some symptoms such as dizziness. Only when our blood pressure is in a normal state can we ensure the health of the body. So what is the normal range of human blood pressure? Let's find out together.

What is the normal range of human blood pressure?

The normal systolic blood pressure for adults is 90~140 mmHg, the diastolic blood pressure is 60~90 mmHg, and the pulse pressure difference is 30~40 mmHg. The blood pressure in the two upper limbs of a healthy person may not be equal, and the difference between the left and right sides can reach 10~20 mmHg. The blood pressure in the lower limbs can be about 20~40 mmHg higher than that in the upper limbs.

How to measure blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer

(1) Always measure the brachial artery on the right upper wall. Only measure the left upper arm when there is an abnormality in the right arm (such as disability, paralysis, etc.). This is because the blood pressure values on the left and right upper arms of a normal person are different. Due to the different anatomical positions of blood vessels, the pressure of blood flow on the blood vessel wall in the right blood vessels is greater than that on the left side, so the blood pressure on the right side is generally higher than that on the left side. The difference between the two can reach 10 to 20/10 mmHg.

The difference in blood pressure values from a blood pressure monitor may be greater than that of normal people.

(2) Blood pressure is measured in the sitting position. When measuring, the upper arm should not be compressed by tight sleeves, the palm should face upward without clenching into a fist, and the height of the arm should be equal to the height of the heart.

(3) Keep calm before measurement. Sit quietly and rest for 15 minutes. Don't think about something nervously, or repeatedly speculate about your blood pressure, or feel anxious. Especially for patients who are measuring their blood pressure for the first time, there is no need to panic (the arm will feel slightly numb during measurement, but there is no pain), otherwise it will affect the blood pressure.

(4) If a person’s blood pressure is measured for the first time and the measured blood pressure value is very high, he should be allowed to rest for 1 hour before measuring again. Each time you measure blood pressure, you must measure it twice. If the difference between two diastolic blood pressures is more than 4 mmHg, the measurement should be continued until the difference between two consecutive diastolic blood pressures is within 4 mmHg. And take the average value.

After we understand the normal range of human blood pressure, we must pay more attention to our physical health, go to the hospital for physical examinations regularly, and pay more attention to our diet and maintain good eating habits. In order to prevent high blood pressure, do not always eat a lot of meat and fish. At the same time, in order to avoid low blood pressure, we must also pay attention to the nutritional balance of our diet and do not always do things in a sloppy manner for a long time, as this will have a great impact on our health.
