How to distinguish the front and back of contact lenses

How to distinguish the front and back of contact lenses

Many people have to wear glasses all year round due to myopia. Frequent wearing of glasses puts great pressure on the bridge of the nose and can also cause deformation of the eyes. While contact lenses make them convenient for many myopic people to use, they also cause a certain degree of trouble to many users because of the special nature of their materials. For example, it is very easy to wear contact lenses upside down if you are not careful. So, what happens if you wear your contact lenses the wrong way around? How do you wear your contact lenses correctly?

What should you do if you wear your contact lens upside down? Take it off and put it back on. In order to help everyone better distinguish the front and back sides of contact lenses, the editor will introduce some identification methods: take out the contact lens and place it on the index finger of your hand, so that the edges of the lens are not attached to the finger. Now place it in front of your eye and observe the shape of the edge of the lens. If it is bowl-shaped, it is the front side and can be worn at this time. If the edge of the lens is outward in a disc shape, it is the back side and the lens needs to be adjusted before wearing.

So, what is the correct way to wear contact lenses? To wear contact lenses correctly, you need to:

1. Before removing and wearing corneal contact lenses, wash your hands with soap first, and thoroughly rinse off cosmetics, fibers, oils, greases and other substances.

2. When wearing contact lenses, first place the contact lens on the tip of your right index finger, and do not mix up the left and right lenses.

3. Check whether the lens is flipped. If it is flipped, correct it immediately. When observing, pay attention to the side of the lens. If the side is protruding and the curvature is consistent, it is the front side; if the contact lens is straw hat-shaped, it is the back side.

4. Use the index finger and thumb of your left hand to separate the upper and lower eyelids, and use the index finger of your right hand to support the lens, and then cover the contact lens on the black pupil. Then gently close the upper and lower eyelids, and the contact lens will be fixed on the cornea.

5. If the corneal contact lens is stuck on the eye and cannot be supported, you can put a drop of saline solution and blink your eyes.

When wearing contact lenses, you can use the above introduction to help yourself wear them skillfully. Many times, people will feel that contact lenses are inconvenient. In fact, as long as you use them for a long time, you will become proficient and it will be easy to wear contact lenses. You can practice more and master the correct method.
