What causes angina?

What causes angina?

We all know about the disease angina pectoris, but what causes it? Few people understand. Let’s take a closer look at it below. Daily living habits are closely related to the causes of angina pectoris. Staying up late, having little rest time, or smoking and drinking can all cause angina pectoris. Then we need to have good eating habits in our daily lives, eat less greasy food, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, etc. Exercise should be appropriate and not too strenuous, which may cause excessive fatigue.

1. Excessive fatigue. Intense mental or heavy physical labor, long-distance travel, mountain climbing, climbing, etc., increase the burden on cardiac function, resulting in myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, and inducing angina pectoris.

2. Emotionally excited. Emotional fluctuations such as anger, anxiety, and over-excitement excite the sympathetic nerves, increase vasoactive substances such as catecholamines in the body, accelerate the heart rate, increase blood pressure, cause coronary artery spasm, and increase myocardial oxygen consumption. This causes an imbalance between myocardial oxygen consumption and blood supply, inducing angina pectoris, and may even cause myocardial infarction or ventricular fibrillation, leading to sudden death.

3. Cold stimulation. When the temperature changes suddenly, a cold wave suddenly arrives, you go out when it is windy and snowing, or you walk against the cold wind, the body cannot adapt, resulting in a sudden increase in norepinephrine in the body, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, coronary artery spasm, and causing angina pectoris.

4. Improper diet. In particular, overeating large amounts of high-fat foods can cause abdominal distension and increased diaphragm volume, with a large amount of blood concentrated in the gastrointestinal tract and reduced blood supply to the coronary arteries, which can easily induce angina pectoris or even myocardial infarction. Vigorous activity after a full meal can also induce angina pectoris.

5. Smoking. When patients with coronary heart disease smoke, the incidence of angina pectoris can increase by 100%. If you suffer from hypertension and hyperlipidemia at the same time, the incidence rate will increase 8 times! Because when smoking, a large amount of nicotine and carbon monoxide enters the human body, which accelerates the heart rate and increases myocardial oxygen consumption. It also causes coronary artery constriction, promotes platelet aggregation and thrombosis, thereby inducing angina pectoris or myocardial infarction.

6. Drinking a lot of alcohol. Alcohol stimulation accelerates the heartbeat and increases myocardial oxygen consumption. It also causes blood vessels on the body's surface to dilate, causing a large amount of blood to flow to the body's surface, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the coronary arteries, an imbalance in the supply and demand of myocardial blood, and inducing angina pectoris.

The above content is about the causes of angina pectoris. It’s all a matter of lifestyle habits. We can improve this situation by just paying attention to getting more rest and maintaining a normal work and rest schedule. Especially male friends who often smoke and drink must quit this bad habit, do more outdoor exercises, maintain a good mood, and ventilate the bedroom frequently to maintain good air.
