On the contrary, heating food in a microwave oven retains more vitamins and minerals in the food because it heats quickly and no water is needed. On the other hand, heating food in a microwave does not produce carcinogens. Because microwaves are thermal rays, they transfer heat energy to food without affecting the essence of the food.
