The difference between purified water and mineral water

When people go out, they like to buy a bottle of purified water or mineral water, which is convenient and affordable. However, most people do not know the difference between the two. Most people even doubt that they are the same. For example, is Runtian purified water or mineral water? Is Nongfu Spring purified water or mineral water? Many people do not have this concept. Let's analyze the difference between purified water and mineral water:

As the name suggests, purified water is pure water that contains almost no impurities. An important criterion for measuring pure water is conductivity (i.e. the ability of water to conduct electricity). The more impurity ions the water contains, the greater its conductivity (the H+ and OH- ionized by water itself can also make water conductive). The distilled water we often refer to is pure water made by distillation.

Purified drinking water refers to water that meets the sanitary standards for drinking water. It is processed by distillation, deionization, ion exchange, reverse osmosis and other appropriate processing methods to remove minerals, organic components, harmful impurities and microorganisms in the water. It does not contain any additives (except ozone) and can be directly drunk.

Mineral water is water containing minerals, which contains rare elements essential to the human body. Generally speaking, mineral water is often distinguished from ordinary fresh water in terms of temperature, salt content, mineralization, water chemical composition or the characteristics of freely escaping gases. The trace elements in mineral water can participate in the metabolism of hormones and nucleic acids in the human body, and can be said to be health-care ingredients needed by the human body. However, the results of physiological and chemical research show that many mineral waters do not meet hygiene requirements. Even for hygienic mineral waters, the types and quantities of trace elements required vary due to different physical conditions of different people. Therefore, the trace elements and ions in mineral water are not beneficial to everyone. It is reported that the physiological concentration of trace elements in the human body is very close to the toxic dose. Excessive intake of trace elements is more harmful to the human body than insufficient intake. Therefore, physiological health experts specifically point out that trace elements should not be supplemented indiscriminately. Therefore, the type of mineral water you drink should be chosen under the guidance of a doctor, but mineral water should not be regarded as the best water for long-term drinking.

To sum up, neither purified water nor mineral water can be drunk alone for a long time, and we cannot always rely on the water on the market. Boiled tap water is suitable for drinking, but you can buy a bottle of mineral water from time to time to supplement minerals. In normal times, drink more boiled water, which is beneficial to the excretion of waste from the body, metabolism and health. Keep a happy mood.
