What are the symptoms of soft tissue sarcoma

Soft tissue sarcoma is a common disease. It usually has obvious symptoms and can be easily discovered if you are careful. Once the disease is discovered, it should be treated promptly.

Typical symptoms of soft tissue sarcoma:

1. Lump: Patients often seek medical attention with painless lumps, which may last for several months or more than a year.

2. Pain: High-grade sarcomas grow faster and are often accompanied by dull pain. If the tumor affects nearby nerves, pain may be the first symptom.

3. Hardness: Tumors with more fibers and smooth muscles are harder in texture, while tumors with more blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and fat are softer in texture.

4. Location: Fibrogenic tumors often occur in subcutaneous tissue; adipose tumors often occur in the buttocks, lower limbs and retroperitoneum; mesothelioma often occurs in the chest and abdomen; smooth muscle tumors often occur in the abdomen and trunk. Synovial sarcoma is more likely to occur near joints and fascia.

5. Mobility: Benign and low-grade malignant tumors often grow superficially and have greater mobility. Tumors that grow deeper or invade surrounding tissues are less active. Retroperitoneal tumors are mostly fixed due to anatomical relationships.

6. Temperature: Soft tissue sarcomas have abundant blood supply and active metabolism, and the local temperature may be higher than that of the surrounding normal tissues. The local temperature of benign tumors is normal.

7. Regional lymph nodes: Soft tissue sarcoma can metastasize along the lymphatic channels. Synovial sarcoma and rhabdomyosarcoma often cause regional lymph node enlargement, which sometimes fuse into a mass.
