What is the correct way to treat connective tissue external hemorrhoids?

Connective tissue external hemorrhoids are also a very common type of hemorrhoids. The obvious symptom is the appearance of connective tissue, which will actually affect the patient's life. To treat this disease, some behavioral and dietary therapies can be used.

1. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids. It is named because of its small size, damaged blood vessels, and blood clots that form thrombi. The patient has severe pain in the anus. 7 to 10 days after the onset of the disease, the pain will be relieved after treatment, but if the local lump is hard and persists, surgery is required to remove the blood clot. For some patients who are not suitable for surgery or do not want surgery, non-surgical treatment will continue to be used.

2. Varicose external hemorrhoids. Varicose external hemorrhoids can be treated with both surgical and non-surgical methods. Generally, surgical methods are used to dissect the external hemorrhoidal venous plexus, while non-surgical treatments use methods of clearing away heat and dampness, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis to enable patients to maintain smooth bowel movements, avoid straining when going to the toilet, gently press the anus several times after defecation, and contract the anus 20 times.

3. Connective tissue external hemorrhoids. No special treatment is required, only general care is needed. Patients are required to adjust their bowel habits, avoid squatting on the toilet for too long; take a warm water sitz bath after defecation or before going to bed; and keep the anal skin dry. When inflammatory swelling and pain occur, fumigation and sitting baths can be used, and hemorrhoid ointment, golden ointment, etc. can be applied externally. Antibiotics can also be given appropriately.

4. Inflammatory external hemorrhoids. You only need to adjust your bowel habits to prevent constipation, avoid drinking alcohol and eating hot and irritating foods, take a potassium permanganate sitz bath after defecation, or use spectrum irradiation treatment. If necessary, apply hemorrhoid ointment once a day. Or take metronidazole (Flagyl) 0.4 grams orally, twice a day. For patients with long-term inflammatory edema, surgical resection can be performed.
