What to do with itchy eyes due to conjunctivitis? Four nursing tips

Have you ever seen people with red eyes in daily life? Most of these people have conjunctivitis. Pink eye causes changes in the color of eye secretions and can also cause itching in the eye area. If your eyes are itchy due to conjunctivitis, you can use some effective care methods to improve and regulate them, thereby reducing the chance of itching due to conjunctivitis.

1. Pay attention to hygiene

When our eyes are itchy or sleepy, we like to rub our eyes directly with our hands. This can easily allow bacteria to infect our eyes and induce conjunctivitis. Therefore, we must wash our hands frequently to ensure the hygiene of our hands, and do not grow long nails to reduce the chance of infection.

2. Pay attention to your diet

During the treatment, it is appropriate to eat a light diet and avoid eating fried, spicy or irritating foods, as these will aggravate the condition.

3. Disinfection

Disinfect the towels and washbasins you usually use, dry them, and then use them after you recover. During illness, you need to prepare a new set of toiletries.

IV. Drug treatment

Levofloxacin hydrochloride eye drops are suitable for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis and bacterial keratitis caused by sensitive bacteria.

The method of use is relatively simple. Place levofloxacin hydrochloride eye drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye. Take 1-2 drops 3-5 times a day. Recommended course of treatment: 7 days for bacterial conjunctivitis and 10-14 days for bacterial keratitis.

Since conjunctivitis is a contagious disease, for the sake of the health of others, try to reduce going out during the illness, especially avoid going to public places such as amusement parks, bathhouses, and zoos. If you already feel eye discomfort, such as red eyes, swollen eyes, eye pain, increased secretions, photophobia, tearing, itchy eyes, etc., it is best to go to a regular hospital for treatment. Never go to the pharmacy to buy eye drops by yourself. Using hot compresses on patients with red eyes may aggravate the bleeding. At the same time, due to the increase in temperature inside the eye, pathogens will grow more actively, which will aggravate the condition. Do not wear an eye patch or bandage, as this will affect the discharge of eye secretions and increase the temperature inside the eye, providing a good "breeding ground" for the growth and reproduction of pathogens.
