What is the difference between esophagus and esophagus

The esophagus and the food pipe are naturally different. These are two different parts. The esophagus is a part of the digestive tract. If there is a problem with this part, the patient will not be able to eat normally and can only eat some liquid food, or must use intravenous infusion to supplement nutrition. This will threaten the patient's life in the long run, so you must protect your esophagus.

Esophagus: It is part of the digestive tract, connected to the pharynx, descending along the vertebral body, passing through the esophageal hiatus of the diaphragm and entering the stomach. It is about 25 cm long. The esophagus can be divided into three sections according to its course: cervical, thoracic and abdominal. The esophagus is mainly composed of the annular muscle layer (inner layer) and the longitudinal muscle layer (outer layer). Because the contraction and peristalsis of these two muscles force food into the stomach, their main function is to push food into the stomach.

It is a flat, round, muscular tube that transports food and is located in front of the spine. The upper end connects with the pharynx at the height of the lower edge of the 6th cervical vertebra, and the lower end passes through the diaphragm and connects with the cardia of the stomach on the left side of the 11th thoracic vertebra. The total length is about 25 cm, and the length from the central incisor to the end of the esophagus is about 40 to 42 cm.

The esophageal mucosa is moist, smooth and pink, while the lower esophageal mucosa is slightly light gray. There are 7 to 10 longitudinal folds on the mucosa, which protrude into the inner cavity and help the fluid flow down.

The submucosal layer of the esophagus is composed of loose connective tissue and is located between the mucosa and the muscularis. It contains larger blood vessels, nerves, lymphatic vessels and esophageal glands.

The muscular layer of the esophagus is divided into two layers: the inner circular layer and the outer longitudinal layer. It is about 2 mm thick, with elastic fibers sandwiched between the two layers. The muscular layer of the upper esophagus is striated muscle, and there is a lack of longitudinal muscle fibers at the back. The circular muscles at both ends of the esophagus are well developed and are similar to sphincters. The middle section of the esophagus is an area where striated muscle and smooth muscle exist together, while the lower section of the esophagus is composed entirely of smooth muscle.

The outer membrane of the esophagus is composed of loose connective tissue and is rich in blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and nerves.

Inappropriate exercise time, irregular eating schedule, and excessive exercise can cause upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is common in basketball and runners.

The esophagus is a muscular tube with an average diameter of 2 cm (about 25 cm long) that begins at the pharynx and continues at the stomach. Barium meal fluoroscopy can observe that the normal esophagus has four physiological strictures, which are formed by compression of adjacent structures.

The first stricture is located at the beginning of the esophagus, about 15 cm away from the central incisor, and is caused by compression of the cricopharyngeal muscle, which is clinically called the upper esophageal sphincter.

The second stenosis is located at the intersection of the esophagus and the aortic arch, about 22.5 cm away from the central incisor.

The third stricture is located at the intersection of the esophagus and the left main bronchus, about 27.5 cm away from the central incisor
