Will perianal abscess surgery be painful?

The occurrence of perianal abscess causes a lot of suffering to patients, and surgical treatment is the most effective method for perianal abscess. Surgical drainage is definitely painful, but you also need to pay attention to care and adjustment to keep the anus clean and hygienic.

1. Treatment of simple abscess: In lithotomy position or side-lying position, radial incisions can be made at the abscess site using local anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. After the pus is released, the index finger is inserted to explore the size of the abscess cavity and separate its intervals. If necessary, cut the skin at the edge of the incision a little to facilitate drainage, and finally insert a Vaseline gauze strip into the abscess cavity for drainage.

2. Abscesses in which the abscess cavity is connected with anal fistula. After opening the abscess, carefully check the internal opening with a probe, then open the fistula, appropriately remove the skin and subcutaneous tissue, and slightly remove the tissue around the internal opening to ensure smooth drainage. If the internal opening is deep and the fistula passes through the anal sphincter, thread hanging therapy can be used. The advantage of the above surgery is that the abscess is cured in the first stage and no anal fistula will be formed. However, in acute inflammation, when it is difficult to find the internal opening, you should not search blindly to prevent the spread of inflammation or the formation of a false channel. Only make an incision and drain the pus, and then perform anal fistula surgery after anal fistula is formed. The advantage of the second-stage surgery is accurate effect and high cure rate.

3. Actively exercise, strengthen physical fitness, promote blood circulation, enhance local disease resistance and prevent infection.

4. Keeping the anus clean, changing underwear frequently, and cleaning the anus after defecation are effective in preventing infection.

5. Actively prevent and treat other anal diseases, such as anal cryptitis and anal papillitis, to avoid perianal abscesses and anal fistulas.

6. If not treated in time, it may cause other diseases with perianal abscess as clinical manifestation, such as ulcerative colitis, intestinal tuberculosis, etc.

7. Avoid sitting in wet places for a long time to prevent the anus from getting cold and wet, which may cause infection.

8. Preventing and treating constipation and diarrhea is important for preventing the formation of perianal abscess and anal fistula.

9 Once an anorectal abscess occurs, it should be treated early to prevent it from spreading.
