How to care after surgical treatment of cervical lymphoma

Lymphoma can occur in many parts of the body, and of course it can also occur in the neck. Neck lymphoma can be treated surgically, but there are many things you need to pay attention to after surgery. Here is what the nursing methods are for neck lymphoma surgery? What are the precautions?

The following are the nursing methods after surgery for cervical lymphoma:

First, improve physical fitness and supplement protein nutrition

After chemotherapy, patients with cervical lymphoma will be weak and have poor immunity, so they must add some high-protein, high-energy, vitamin C and A-rich healthy foods to their diet, such as milk, soybeans, lean meat, turtle soup, peanuts, red dates, walnuts, pine nuts, etc. If patients develop oral ulcers and difficulty swallowing after chemotherapy, they should get some soft semi-liquid food, such as white fungus and red date soup, preserved egg and lean meat porridge, tofu brain, egg custard, etc.

Second, pay attention to gastrointestinal absorption reaction

Patients with cervical lymphoma often experience nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite after chemotherapy. Therefore, on the one hand, patients should be given more psychological hints to reduce vomiting, and on the other hand, they should reduce their food intake and increase the frequency of their meals. They can eat some digestive foods such as sour plums or hawthorns to help patients absorb nutrients. After eating, they should pay attention to rinsing their mouths and maintaining oral hygiene to reduce the occurrence of secondary infections.

After surgery for cervical lymphoma, pay attention to the following points:

1. After lymphoma surgery, pay close attention to observe whether there are compression symptoms caused by deep lymph node enlargement, such as cough, dyspnea, and superior vena cava compression caused by mediastinal lymph node enlargement, and hydronephrosis caused by ureteral compression caused by retroperitoneal lymph node enlargement. If the patient has dyspnea, pay attention to giving high-flow oxygen inhalation, take a semi-recumbent position, and give appropriate sedatives if necessary.

2. Some patients need radiotherapy and chemotherapy after lymphoma surgery, so the precautions after lymphoma surgery are mainly focused on radiotherapy and chemotherapy care. Patients should keep their skin clean and scrub it with warm water every day, especially protect the skin in the radiotherapy area, avoid all irritants such as sun exposure, cold and heat, various disinfectants, soaps, adhesive tapes, etc., and choose soft cotton fabrics with strong water absorption and loose underwear.
