Why do I see things blurry? Could it be caused by a disease?

Eyes are a way for us to observe the external environment, and they are very fragile and need more protection and attention. If you overuse your eyes or have some eye diseases, your vision will deteriorate rapidly. Therefore, it is important to identify the cause before taking measures to alleviate and treat it.

What causes blurry vision?

1. First: It may be caused by cataracts. Cataracts are simply clouding of the lens. Senile cataracts are more common in people over 50 years old. The cause of the disease is related to ultraviolet radiation. Usually both eyes are affected, but the order and degree of onset of the disease vary. Patients generally feel that there are fixed black spots in front of their eyes. As the disease progresses, vision becomes increasingly blurred.

2. Second: It may be vitreous opacities. This is due to degenerative changes in the vitreous body, the exudation of water, and the concentration and aggregation of fibrous tissue to form fine turbidities. Or the adhesion between the vitreous and the retina is reduced, causing posterior vitreous detachment. The detached vitreous membrane moves as the eyeball rotates, causing the patient to feel that there are black spots or shadows floating in front of their eyes.

3. Third: It may also be diabetic retinopathy. In the early stages, patients experience varying degrees of visual acuity loss, which can be mild or severe and changes repeatedly. In the later stages, visual impairment gradually worsens until blindness occurs. The main manifestations of diabetic retinopathy are retinal spot hemorrhages, capillary hemangiomas, white exudates and retinal arteriosclerosis.
