What should I do if I have persistent diarrhea? You need to know these methods

Diarrhea is also loose stools, which is mainly manifested by an increase in the frequency of bowel movements. Continuous diarrhea is also a torture for ordinary people. As for the problem of what to do when diarrhea persists, you must find a way to stop the diarrhea. You can also use drugs to stop diarrhea. The most important thing is targeted treatment and using the right medicine for the right disease.

1. Anti-infection: Co-trimoxazole and quinolones (norfloxacin, ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin) are suitable for diarrhea caused by Shigella, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli, etc. For Clostridium difficile infection, metronidazole or vancomycin can be used. Intestinal tuberculosis should be treated with triple or quadruple anti-tuberculosis therapy. Metronidazole is an option for amoebic dysentery. Antibiotics are not usually used for viral diarrhea. Escherichia coli O157:H7 infection is also not recommended because existing antibiotics are ineffective and increase the incidence of hemolytic-uremic syndrome. Generally, after the stool is sent for culture, fluoroquinolone antibiotics can be given empirically, and erythromycin should be added if clinical signs of Campylobacter are present.

2. Others: People with lactose intolerance should not use dairy products, and adults with celiac disease should avoid wheat products (including barley, wheat, oats and rye). Chronic pancreatitis should be supplemented with a variety of digestive enzymes. If diarrhea is caused by medication, the relevant medication should be discontinued immediately. Digestive tract tumors can be removed surgically or treated with chemotherapy. The somatostatin analog octreotide can inhibit tumor hormone secretion and can be used for diarrhea caused by carcinoid syndrome and neuroendocrine tumors. For inflammatory bowel disease, sulfasalazine or 5-aminosalicylic acid preparations, such as mesalazine, can be used.

3. Pinching the spine: When pinching the spine, the technique is mainly applied to the spine and both sides of the child's back. The spine belongs to the Du meridian in traditional Chinese medicine, which is the main yang of the whole body. Pinching the spine can regulate yin and yang, and strengthen the spleen and kidneys. During the operation, the doctor lightly presses the Changqiang point below the spine with the index fingers of both hands, and pushes upward to the Dazhui point on the neck of the spine. At the same time, use the thumbs of both hands to press, pinch, and twist the spine alternately, six times in total. For the fifth time, pinch and lift the spleen, stomach and diaphragm points. After completing six times, use the thumbs of both hands to gently rub the child's kidney points three times. Kneading therapy is most effective when performed in the morning or in the morning.
