How to effectively treat nasal congestion

How to effectively treat nasal congestion

Nasal congestion is a common clinical symptom, which is usually caused by diseases such as rhinitis. Many people are more concerned about how to effectively treat nasal congestion. In addition to drug treatment, you can also use some folk remedies to treat nasal congestion, such as massage or applying a hot towel to the nose.

1. Frying and smoking method:

Take a small handful of scallions or three or four shallots, chop them into pieces and boil them into a soup. Inhale the hot steam through your nose. Or boil vinegar and inhale the vinegar vapor. Both are effective.

2. Filling method:

Mash the scallion whites and extract its juice to soak into cotton wool, then stuff the cotton wool into the nostrils. Or cut a garlic clove into a cylinder slightly smaller than the nostrils, wrap it with a thin layer of cotton or gauze and stuff it into the nostrils. This also has a good effect.

3. Side-lying massage method:

If you have left-side ear congestion, lie to the right; if you have right-side nasal congestion, lie to the left. Use two fingers to pinch your nose and press and rub the Yingxiang points on both sides for 1 to 2 minutes. The nasal congestion can be removed.

4. Hot compress method:

Apply a hot towel to your nose, or use a hair dryer to blow hot air into your nostrils, blowing on both sides of the temples, Fengchi acupoints, and Dazhui acupoints, and the nasal congestion can be relieved.

5. Transposition method:

This method is suitable for babies. When a baby has a stuffy nose, he or she often cries non-stop. At this time, you can hold the baby upright and he or she will soon fall asleep peacefully.

6. You can use the side of your thumbs to make cross-up and down massage on the sides of your nose, gently press out the mucus produced by the massage, use a small cotton swab dipped in sesame oil (sesame oil) to wipe the nasal cavity, then gently press out the mucus produced at this time, and finally use another small cotton swab dipped in honey to wipe the nasal cavity. This method is very effective.

7. Nasal congestion is a symptom of a cold. Most colds are caused by nasal viruses. When you have a cold, the nasal mucosa becomes inflamed, the tissues swell, the capillaries dilate, and the secretions increase, which hinders the flow of gas in and out, and the nose is naturally not easy to ventilate. It's like a narrow passage that is filled with things, so the flow of gas in and out is of course blocked. When nasal congestion seriously affects sleep, wash your feet with hot water to help the nasal mucosa congestion subside. It can not only relieve nasal congestion, but also regulate the excitement and inhibition of the cerebral cortex, thereby promoting sleep.
