What to do if the blood test for iron deficiency anemia is abnormal

Iron deficiency anemia is a common symptom of anemia, especially among children. It is anemia caused by malnutrition in children. The most direct diagnosis of anemia is a routine blood test. Too little iron in the blood can easily reduce the blood's ability to transport oxygen, resulting in iron deficiency anemia. So, what should be done if the routine blood test for iron deficiency anemia is abnormal?

Iron deficiency anemia can lead to low hemoglobin and cause anemia symptoms. Most people suffer from anemia symptoms due to iron deficiency caused by malnutrition, excessive menstrual blood loss in women, increased iron demand during pregnancy, gastrointestinal diseases, etc., which cannot meet the body's normal hemoglobin production. Therefore, to improve anemia, it is necessary to supplement the hematopoietic raw materials such as iron and protein required for hemoglobin.

Iron deficiency anemia needs to supplement iron, protein, and vitamin C foods:

Dietary conditioning should first supplement iron. In addition to foods such as animal liver, blood clots, lean meat, soybeans, spinach, eggs, seafood such as fish and shrimp, seaweed, kelp, red dates, black fungus, etc. are also rich in iron.

In addition to supplementing protein, besides eating more lean meat and fish, you should also eat more soy products, which are the richest in protein among plant foods.

Vitamin C (found in fruits such as lemons and oranges) promotes the body's absorption of iron, so it is recommended to consume it daily.

If a routine blood test finds that the hemoglobin level is lower than 100g/L, you need to supplement iron on the basis of dietary adjustment. Oral iron tablets, which are commonly used for iron deficiency anemia, should be taken. Generally, the hemoglobin level will increase significantly after a few weeks. Supplementation should be continued for two months until the routine blood test indicates that the hemoglobin level has reached normal levels.

What to eat for iron deficiency anemia: Fried pork with black fungus

Soak 15 grams of dried black fungus in warm water and wash it. Slice 60 grams of lean pork and stir-fry in a pan for two minutes. Add the soaked black fungus and stir-fry together. Add appropriate amount of salt and a little clear soup. Simmer for 5 minutes before serving. 3 times a week. Among them, black fungus benefits the stomach and kidneys, and regulates the middle qi. When used together with lean pork, it can nourish the spleen and stomach, and regulate the middle qi. Black fungus and lean meat are both foods with very high iron content and have a good effect in iron supplementation.
