How to treat clavicular lymphadenopathy?

For clavicular lymph node tuberculosis, active treatment should be carried out to reduce and lower the problem as much as possible and the impact on oneself. Patients are advised to pay more attention to rest and nutritional supplements in their daily lives. For larger lymph nodes, surgical resection can be performed.

1. Systemic treatment requires proper attention to nutrition and rest. Patients who have taken isoniazid orally for 1-2 years and have systemic toxicity symptoms or tuberculosis lesions elsewhere in the body. Add sodium para-aminosalicylate or rifampicin or add intramuscular injection of streptomycin.

2. Local treatment

1. For a few localized, larger, and movable lymph nodes, surgical resection may be considered. Be careful not to damage the accessory nerve during surgery.

2. If a cold abscess has formed but has not yet ruptured, cryptic puncture and drainage of the pus can be performed. The needle is inserted through the normal skin surrounding the abscess. Drain as much pus as possible, and then inject 5% isoflurane solution or 10% streptomycin solution into the abscess cavity for flushing. Leave an appropriate amount in the abscess cavity, twice a week.

3. If a cold abscess ruptures and forms ulcers or sinus tracts, curettage can be performed if the secondary infection is not obvious. Carefully remove all the diseased tissue. The wound was not sutured, and the dressing was changed with streptomycin solution.

4. Cold abscesses with secondary purulent infection. Incision and drainage are required first, and curettage can be performed if necessary after the infection is controlled.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that scrofula is mostly caused by the accumulation of wind-heat and toxic qi in the triple burner, liver, gallbladder and other meridians, deficiency of qi and blood in the liver and kidney meridians, and internal movement of virtual fire. It can be divided into two types: acute and chronic. Acute cases are mostly caused by exogenous wind-heat and internal phlegm and toxins; chronic cases are mostly caused by qi stagnation and deficiency. This disease often causes anger, depression, failure of plans, and mental depression.
