Blood cupping is also a very common type of cupping. There is a difference between blood cupping and simple cupping. There are many precautions after blood cupping. If you are not careful, it will be detrimental to your health.

Precautions after using blood cupping

1. Differentiate your physical constitution: Use bloodletting and cupping to tonify or purge based on your physical constitution, otherwise it will be counterproductive.

2. Pay attention to your physical condition: People with heart disease, severe anemia, leukemia, thrombocytopenia and other blood diseases, skin allergies, edema, edema, high blood pressure, blood diseases and bleeding tendency, skin diseases, as well as pregnant women, menstruation, and those who are too full, too thirsty, too hungry, or drunk are not suitable for bloodletting and cupping.

3. Some parts should not be pulled: navel, precordial area, delicate skin, damaged areas, varicose veins, scars, nipples, and protruding bones. It is best not to use bloodletting or cupping until the old scars have subsided.

4. Do not take a bath immediately after bloodletting and cupping: After bloodletting and cupping, the skin is in a state of being "injured" and is sensitive and fragile. Taking a bath at this time can easily cause skin damage and inflammation. It is recommended to wait for two or three hours.

5. When doing bloodletting and cupping, you should keep warm and avoid direct wind to prevent cold.

6. Bleeding and cupping are performed according to the condition of the disease. Generally, the acupoints are selected in rotation, and not too many at one time. When local blood stasis has not subsided, bloodletting and cupping should not be repeated at the same site.

7. Determine the time for bloodletting and cupping according to age, physique and gender. The duration of bloodletting and cupping should be determined according to age, physical condition, gender and the severity of the disease. Generally, the time for bloodletting and cupping is 10 to 15 minutes. The large cup has strong suction force and the time can be shortened appropriately, otherwise blisters may form. Generally, if the condition is mild or there is sensory impairment (such as numbness of the lower limbs), the time for bloodletting and cupping should be short. For patients with severe illness, long course of illness, deep lesions and severe pain, the bloodletting and cupping time can be slightly longer and the adsorption force can be slightly greater.

8. If blisters accidentally form after bloodletting or cupping, you should apply burn ointment in time or go to the hospital for treatment.

9. The patient's reaction should be closely observed during bloodletting and cupping. If symptoms such as dizziness, nausea and vomiting, pale complexion, cold sweats, cold limbs, or even cupping sickness such as low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, and a weak pulse occur, the cups should be removed immediately and the patient should be laid flat in a supine position and kept warm. For mild cases, a small amount of warm water or sugar water can be given to quickly relieve the symptoms and return to normal; for severe cases, acupuncture at the Ren Zhong, Nei Guan, Zu San Li, Zhong Chong points or moxibustion at the Bai Hui, Zhong Ji, Guan Yuan, Yong Quan points can be used. Generally, the symptoms can be relieved quickly and return to normal, or the patient can be sent to the hospital immediately for treatment.
