What is the difference between stiff neck and cervical spondylosis?

In daily life, incorrect sleeping posture can easily lead to stiff neck, and cervical spondylosis is also a relatively common cervical disease. There is a big difference between stiff neck and cervical spondylosis. Generally, stiff neck will heal itself within 3-5 days, while cervical spondylosis will easily cause cervical pain, etc., which will not heal itself.

Stiff neck is a disease caused by improper sleeping posture, which results in limited shoulder and neck movement and soft tissue damage in the shoulders and neck the next day. Cervical spondylosis is a general term for various diseases of the cervical spine. Although the two have similar symptoms, there are also obvious differences.

Stiff neck can be recovered in a short period of time, perhaps 1 or 2 days at the shortest, or 5 to 7 days at the longest, and can return to normal. However, cervical spondylosis is a chronic disease and will not recover quickly. This is the biggest difference between the two.

Generally speaking, there are certain differences between the two types of neck discomfort caused by sleeping stiff neck and cervical spondylosis, but both of them show symptoms of limited neck movement. Sometimes the symptoms of stiff neck are more obvious, but generally they will disappear on their own after half a day.

The uncomfortable symptoms of cervical spondylosis will not disappear on their own. They are usually persistent restrictions in neck movement, and some people also experience headaches and nausea. However, there is no such uncomfortable symptom when suffering from stiff neck. This is one of the differences between the two.

Another difference is that the two are prone to different populations. Anyone can suffer from stiff neck, but people who work at a desk or with their heads down are more likely to suffer from cervical spondylosis. Children generally do not suffer from cervical spondylosis.

Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative spinal disease of the cervical spine, which often occurs in workers over 40 years old. The cause of the disease is often due to repeated contusion and strain of the neck, which causes a series of pathological changes in the cervical spine. After the onset of the disease, pain in the neck, shoulders, arms, upper back of the scapula, upper chest wall and upper limbs appears as the main characteristics of ten chronic and recurrent diseases of middle-aged and elderly people.

The pain is characterized by being aggravated by overwork or cold, and the location of the pain is often closely related to the cervical spine. The disease lasts for a long time and is not easy to eradicate. Stiff neck is a disease characterized by neck pain and difficulty in turning. It is often caused by incorrect sleeping posture or cold neck, which leads to imbalance of qi and blood, obstruction of meridians, and stiffness and pain in the muscles on one side of the neck, and difficulty or limitation in movement.

The course of the disease is short and with timely treatment, it can be cured quickly.
