What should I do if my ears are swollen? These swelling reduction measures must be learned

The ears are protrusions that grow on both sides of the head. They are composed of the auricle and ear canal. At the end of the ear is the eardrum, which is responsible for receiving and processing sound information. Since the auricle is not covered by anything, various risk factors can easily damage the auricle, leading to symptoms such as swollen ears. Let’s take a look at how to effectively reduce ear swelling.

1. Dip a cotton swab in medical alcohol and apply it around the ear hole. Be careful not to put the used cotton swab back into the alcohol to prevent bacteria from entering the alcohol. Do this three times a day.

2. Use a cotton swab dipped in erythromycin ointment or compound polymyxin B ointment to rub around the ears, making sure to wipe both sides of the ears, morning and evening.

3. Try not to let your ears come into contact with water. Water entering the ear hole will make the ear disease more serious. Do not touch your ears frequently because they are swollen. Do not eat spicy foods. It will heal in about a week.

4. Due to the local swelling induced by contact with water, there may be infection. You need to actively remove the earrings and clean the wound at the ear hole with active iodine three times. Then wipe it dry and apply erythromycin ointment locally. Disinfect the earrings with active iodine or boil them (metal earrings) before wearing them. Avoid spicy food.

5. Damage and inflammation of the external auditory canal caused by the ear can be recovered slowly by keeping it dry, avoiding contact with water, eating less spicy food, and taking anti-inflammatory drugs.

6. In addition, you can take oral antibiotics such as amoxicillin capsules in conjunction with the treatment. Avoid eating greasy, spicy and irritating foods. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Pay attention to proper exercise to prevent colds (colds often cause ear diseases to worsen). Ensure adequate sleep, adjust your mentality, and never dig your ears randomly. If you feel stuffy in your ears, you can do ear-pull exercises.
