What are the methods for correcting deformed teeth

Many people have dental problems, among which deformed teeth account for a large proportion. Deformed teeth not only have a certain impact on our appearance, but also affect some normal diet in daily life. However, many people believe that the correction of deformed teeth can be done after adulthood. In fact, deformed teeth can be corrected before the age of 12. There are several methods for correcting deformed teeth.

Method 1: Fixed correction method:

The wire braces are attached to the surface of the teeth and the teeth are moved using the force of the wires or elastic lines. They must be worn normally and will only be removed for a short while during regular check-ups with the doctor. Most orthodontic treatments are done this way, and the wearing time varies from person to person.

Method 2: Active correction method:

Removable braces are invisible braces that patients wear and can remove by themselves. Its main function is to treat insufficient jaw growth. However, it can only improve certain local bad bite conditions and cannot correct the entire mouth. This type of morphological correction can be freely installed and removed by the patient himself. If the patient is lazy and does not wear it for a long time, the treatment effect will be poor.

Method 3: Invasive correction method:

Invasive orthodontics refers to invasive orthodontic treatment, which is usually completed with the help of surgery. The most common correction methods are as follows: Osteogenesis: used to treat patients with underdeveloped upper and lower jaws, micrognathia, inappropriate face shape and hemifacial syndrome. The method is to first partially break the jawbone that needs to be lengthened, and then install traction devices on the two ends of the broken bones, allowing it to gradually generate pulling force to stimulate new bones to grow at the broken place.

Precautions

Orthodontic treatment is irreversible to a certain extent, unlike wearing glasses, where you can get another pair if one pair doesn't fit. Especially for those tooth extraction cases, once the correction fails, it is very difficult to successfully treat again. So everyone must choose a good correction method.
