1. Black beans

2. Nuts

4. Olive Oil

5. Red wine

When it comes to the "Mediterranean diet", in addition to olive oil, another important factor that leads to the low incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among residents around the Mediterranean is red wine.

Red wine is rich in antioxidants resveratrol and catechins, which can not only protect the lining of arteries, but also increase the level of beneficial high-density lipoprotein (HDL). However, drinking should be moderate. After all, alcohol can damage the heart. 1 to 2 glasses of red wine a day (1 glass for women and 2 glasses for men) is enough.
