How effective is amine in treating melasma?

I believe that female friends really can't like chloasma. This is a skin disease caused by increased pigmentation. It is not only difficult to treat but also prone to recurrence. Therefore, the treatment of chloasma has always been ineffective. Today we are talking about amikacin, which is commonly known as tranexamic acid. Can it treat melasma? And is the treatment effect of tranexamic acid good? Of course, it depends on the individual's condition. Let's talk about the therapeutic effect of amikacin.

The mechanism of action of tranexamic acid in treating chloasma is still not fully understood. Relevant researchers believe that cytokines activate the proliferation of pigment cells or a certain link of melanin formation, and tranexamic acid may have the effect of inhibiting cytokines, so the effect of treating chloasma is more obvious. In addition, some people believe that tranexamic acid can block a certain link in the formation of melanin.

Regardless of which mechanism is at work, there is no doubt that tranexamic acid is effective in treating melasma. Some researchers even believe that tranexamic acid is the drug of choice for oral treatment of melasma. Relevant research in Japan found that under normal circumstances, tranexamic acid will be effective after taking it for 1 to 2 months, but about 10% to 20% of patients will relapse after stopping the medication, and taking tranexamic acid again will still be effective. Although tranexamic acid is very effective in treating melasma, its therapeutic mechanism remains unclear and may be related to the inhibition of tyrosinase.

In clinical treatment, it was found that many people find it difficult to persist in taking oral tolamine to treat melasma because the course of treatment is long and the effect is slow. However, if laser treatment is combined with hydrating and moisturizing care during treatment, there will be unexpected results. It is recommended that all three be performed at the same time for faster and better results.

Regarding the use of tranexamic acid in the treatment of chloasma, early reports recommended 1500 mg per day, or 6 250 mg capsules, taken orally in 3 divided doses. However, some doctors believe that 500 mg per day (2 pills a day, one pill each time) also has a good therapeutic effect. Some clinical studies have also found that taking a larger dose does not necessarily result in a better freckle removal effect.
