I have a headache because I sleep too much

I have a headache because I sleep too much

All the functions of the body are in operation during the day, and only when a person is asleep will they have time to rest and recover. Therefore, when the sleep time is not enough, the body will show obvious fatigue. However, this does not mean that too much sleep is a good thing. When you sleep too much, it is easy to have symptoms of headache and fatigue. The human body's sleep is a potential biological clock, so you need to plan the length of your sleep.

In fact, human sleep has a rhythm and can be divided into deep sleep and light sleep. Under normal circumstances, deep sleep and light sleep alternate. Generally speaking, the first half of sleep is deep sleep, and the second half is mostly light sleep. When people enter the light sleep stage, the blood flow to the brain increases, and when the blood vessels dilate, the nerves distributed in the blood vessels will be stretched and stimulated. It is very likely that a dull vascular headache is caused by this stimulation.

It has to be said that there is a mysterious biological clock in the human body. If people develop the habit of going to bed at a fixed time every day and getting up to work at a fixed time, in the long run, the biological clock will develop a habit, and they will feel sleepy even if they don't want to sleep at a certain time, and they will wake up even if they don't want to get up at a certain time. The feeling of wanting to sleep in but not being able to do so is really a mixture of love and hate, and of course this kind of self-disciplined lifestyle is still healthy. Just like office workers who can’t sleep in well on weekends.

Once sleep exceeds the time set by the biological clock to wake up, even if the person is still not awake, the brain is awake and very active. At this time, the person will be in a long state of light sleep. In fact, deep sleep does not increase at this time, it just extends the time of light sleep. This can easily cause people to wake up with a headache, or feel a headache after waking up. That’s why experts say that sleeping in is harmful to people. If you don’t sleep, you will feel unhappy, and if you sleep, you will have a headache. It is really distressing!

I believe that there are many friends who are half asleep and half awake and just don’t want to get up. In fact, this is dangerous. Lying down all the time is not good for blood circulation and will cause brain deprivation of oxygen, resulting in headaches. So even if I wake up, I will still have a headache if I lie down all the time! Even if you lie down with a high pillow, the position of the brain is still relatively low. When you are asleep, the body's metabolism tends to slow down, and the slow blood circulation is sufficient to meet the body's needs. However, when a person wakes up, the body's metabolism speeds up, the brain is relatively low, and the blood circulation is slow, which will lead to insufficient oxygen supply to the brain and headaches due to lack of oxygen.

Another point is that when people sleep, their breathing slows down and the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the blood increases. If you sleep for more than ten hours a day, the carbon dioxide accumulated in the blood will become an anesthetic in the human body, making people drowsy, dizzy and even have headaches. Long sleep time will also reduce the excitability of the cerebral cortex due to long-term inhibition, leading to slow reaction and memory loss. In addition, since the basal metabolism decreases during sleep, excess calories will be converted into fat and accumulated in the body, making people fat.
