Reasons and precautions for removing wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth may seem normal, but they are actually extremely harmful and can seriously affect the health of the entire periodontium. Wisdom teeth mostly appear in young people. They are usually extremely painful and affect normal diet and life. If they are not treated for a long time, they will cause bacteria to grow and cause local tissue inflammation. Wisdom teeth must be removed. In the later stages, you should pay more attention to oral hygiene, talk less, eat mainly liquid food, and eat less spicy and irritating food. You will slowly recover if you persist for a period of time.

Why do you need to remove wisdom teeth ?

Due to incomplete eruption, the gums at the back cover part of the crown to form a pericoronal pocket, which accumulates food and bacteria. This can cause frequent inflammation of the local soft tissue, unbearable pain, and even limited opening of the mouth, making it difficult to eat.

Most wisdom teeth are impacted and tilted forward, that is, they are at an angle of about 45 degrees and press against the second molar. The two crowns form an angle and food is impacted. Over time, the second molar develops caries and even pulpitis, causing severe pain.

Although the eruption direction of some wisdom teeth is generally normal, the contact point with the second molar is abnormal, which causes food to be stuck. It is also difficult to brush the gap between teeth when brushing your teeth, which can easily cause caries of the second molar and shorten its service life.

What should I pay attention to after wisdom tooth removal?

After having a tooth extracted, you will produce a lot of saliva, but don't spit it out, be sure to swallow it. Because spitting can cause wounds to bleed and slow down wound healing.

Do not use hot water for the first two or three days, only warm water is recommended, because hot water will promote blood circulation in the wound, which is very detrimental to wound healing and bone tissue formation. Cold water can slow down blood flow in the wound area and help the wound heal better.

Talk less after the operation. Eat mainly liquid food, pay attention to nutritional balance, pay attention to oral hygiene, and rinse your mouth with mouthwash after meals. Brush your teeth regularly and never eat hard food, or you will have to go to the doctor a second time.

The stitches will be removed after seven days. Even after the stitches are removed, you should still pay attention. The bone will be almost back to normal after half a month. Full recovery (i.e. complete formation of bone tissue) will take about two to three months.

Follow the doctor's orders and take medicine and receive infusion on time. Since the oral cavity is an unclean environment, we must pay attention to oral hygiene.
