What to do if your feet are soaked in water for too long

Usually because of work or some other reasons, your feet may be soaked in water for a long time, which will have adverse effects on the body, because when your feet are soaked in water for a long time, moisture will penetrate into the skin, making the skin appear fuller, and the tissues will soften and relax. Don't worry too much when this happens, just leave the water environment in time and keep your feet dry.

What to do if your feet are soaked in water for too long

When you soak your feet in water, water enters your skin due to skin osmosis, and your skin becomes plump, full and tender. However, when you take your feet out, the skin becomes wrinkled because the moisture in the skin is lost due to evaporation of sweat glands and wind drying of the surface.

Another reason is that water can relax and soften tissues. Our skin is actually covered with a thin layer of oil to prevent the skin from absorbing water directly from the outside. However, when we soak in warm or hot water for about half an hour, this layer of oil will be removed by the warm water, so the skin begins to absorb water.

The surface of our skin is a layer called the epidermis.

Below the epidermis is the "dermis"; the epidermis and dermis are not completely tightly "stuck" together, the epidermis is tightly "bound" to the dermis by connective tissue only in some areas, but not in some places; therefore, when the epidermis absorbs water and "swells", the "bound" areas are confined and appear sunken; from the appearance, the surface of the skin appears to have depressions and protrusions, like wrinkles.

Since the palms and toes of the hands and feet are the thickest parts of the body's epidermis, the wrinkling phenomenon is very obvious; other parts of the skin should also produce such an effect, but it is less easily detected. If it is soaked in water for too long, the epidermis absorbs water and expands, so it becomes wrinkled. This is normal.
