Special attention should be paid to the egg retrieval process for IVF

It is very important to pay attention to the warming of test-tube babies. Mothers should keep their blood pressure stable and their heartbeat calm. Before egg retrieval, they should do a comprehensive physical examination again. They should test progesterone and the body's hormone status to check whether eggs can be retrieved at this stage. After egg retrieval, the body may have a small amount of secretions, which will slowly recover after a few days of rest.

What precautions should be taken after egg retrieval for IVF?

The IVF egg retrieval surgery is a very important step in the IVF process. Especially after the IVF egg retrieval, special attention should be paid to conditioning the body and making full preparations for the IVF transplant. So during the IVF treatment process, what precautions should women take after the egg retrieval surgery?

Experts say that female patients should take the following precautions after egg retrieval for IVF:

1. On the day of egg retrieval, if you experience low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, pale complexion, abnormal bleeding, difficulty urinating, or high fever, please return to the emergency department of the National Taiwan University Hospital and go to the obstetrics and gynecology department for emergency treatment.

2. Be sure to rest on the day the egg retrieval surgery is completed.

3. On the day of egg retrieval, progesterone and HCG have been injected in the recovery room. Please contact your egg retrieval doctor whether you need to be injected with progesterone and HCG in the future.

4. If the wound hurts, take the medicine according to the instructions on the medicine bag.

5. Please keep the wound clean. There is no need to remove the stitches. You can also take a shower.

6. If the eggs are retrieved vaginally, there will be a little brown bleeding on the day and the next day. This is normal and the pain and swelling will disappear in 2-3 days.

7. Usually after egg retrieval, you can come back for embryo implantation 3 days later. Some embryos can be cultured until the sixth day. After egg retrieval, the doctor will inform you when to perform the IVF transplant surgery.

8. After the embryo is implanted, you need to take medications and injections according to the doctor's instructions, as well as the time for the next blood draw in the hospital to determine whether you are pregnant.

IVF experts recommend that in addition to the above precautions, infertile patients should also have a reasonable diet after egg retrieval for IVF, eat more foods that are beneficial to the growth of the endometrium, and prepare for the IVF transplantation operation to increase the success rate of IVF.
