Glutaraldehyde disinfectant is a highly effective disinfectant because it can effectively eliminate pathogens such as hepatitis. Glutaraldehyde disinfectant is widely used in industries including diagnostic equipment, cosmetics, electronics industry, etc. Many hotels also use glutaraldehyde disinfectant for disinfection, which is also feasible and has a very good effect in removing germs. Product Introduction Glutaraldehyde disinfectant is a new, highly effective, low-toxic neutral fortified disinfectant that can kill bacterial propagules, bacterial spores, hepatitis bacteria and other pathogenic microorganisms. Glutaraldehyde kills microorganisms mainly through its two active aldehyde groups; its activity is affected by factors such as pH and temperature; under acidic conditions, glutaraldehyde monomers are hydrolyzed into monohydrates, dihydrates, cyclic hemiacetals and acetal-like polymers, which are in equilibrium with each other; since there are only a small amount of glutaraldehyde monomers in acidic aqueous solutions, its biological activity is poor; but under acidic conditions, the polymerization of glutaraldehyde is slow, so acidic glutaraldehyde is more stable and can be stored for a longer time. Under acidic conditions, increasing the temperature can produce more free aldehyde groups, thereby increasing its biological activity. Glutaraldehyde has high biological activity under alkaline conditions of pH 7.5-8.5 and can kill all microorganisms including spores; Glutaraldehyde can polymerize into butanolaldehyde type unsaturated polymers under alkaline conditions, and then form higher polymer forms; In alkaline aqueous solutions, the polymerization of glutaraldehyde is irreversible, and its activity gradually weakens or disappears as the number of polymers increases; Alkaline glutaraldehyde will strengthen its polymerization as pH and temperature increase, and as storage time increases, thereby accelerating the reduction of its activity. Therefore, alkaline glutaraldehyde is more active, but its effective period is generally only two weeks; acidic glutaraldehyde is less active, but its effective period is longer, up to 1 month. Scope of use Used for sterilization of environments and items in industries such as diagnostic equipment, cosmetics, electronics, hotel industry, and sanitary products. For heat-resistant and moisture-resistant items, pressure steam and dry heat sterilization are preferred. For heat-resistant and moisture-resistant items, ethylene oxide gas sterilization can be used. If glutaraldehyde sterilization is the only option, the sterilized medical devices must be rinsed clean with sterile distilled water (physiological saline may be corrosive). Any medical product must be thoroughly cleaned before disinfection and sterilization; after cleaning, it must be dried before being immersed in glutaraldehyde solution to avoid dilution of glutaraldehyde. |
