How to relieve neck cramp pain

How to relieve neck cramp pain

If you don't pay attention in your daily life, it is easy to cause symptoms of neck cramps and pain. This is related to catching a cold and not liking to exercise. Sitting in front of the computer or playing games frequently can easily cause such symptoms. When pain and swelling occur, you can apply ice, which will help relieve the symptoms of swelling and pain. In addition, you should pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and don't sit in front of the computer for too long.

1. Our ancestors have a saying: "Sit like a bell, stand like a pine tree"

It teaches us how to sit and stand, and this sentence makes a lot of sense. Because if you can "sit like a bell, stand like a pine", your spine will be in a balanced position, so it will not stimulate or compress the nerves, and corresponding diseases will not occur.

2. Apply ice.

When your neck feels a little stiff, you may want to use an ice pack or ice cubes in a towel to apply ice if possible. If the neck is slightly injured, ice can help reduce swelling. Heat therapy is an excellent palliative after ice has been used to reduce inflammation. Use a heating pad or take a hot bath.

3. Sit on a chair with a backrest.

If the back is not properly supported, the burden on the neck will be increased, which will not only aggravate the original problem but also create new problems.

4. Place a towel under the bed.

Rolling up a towel and placing it against the hollow of your back while you sit can help to straighten your spine and provide extra support.

5. Pay attention to the combination of work and rest.

After working for a long time (more than an hour), don’t forget to stand up and move around, stretch your waist, move your cervical spine, and give yourself a chance to relax. I believe it will definitely help your health.

6. The line of sight should be level with the monitor

If you are working in front of a computer, make sure the monitor is level with your line of sight. If you force yourself to look up or down for hours, you may develop neck cramps.

7. Reduce phone conversations.

When talking on the phone, it is easy for the neck to fall into an awkward posture, causing neck stiffness and pain.

8. Sleep on a hard mattress.

Many neck problems are caused or exacerbated by poor sleeping habits. Finding a firm mattress can solve this problem. Additionally, "many people with neck pain sleep better without a pillow." If you feel the same way, you might want to ditch the pillow.
