Use of citric acid and baking soda after reaction

Citric acid is an acidic substance. When citric acid is added to soap, it will play a neutralizing role. Only a little bit can be added at a time, not too much. Baking soda is an alkaline substance with many specific cleaning effects. If you add a little baking soda to the laundry soap at home, it will increase its cleaning ability. No matter which substance is added to the soap, citric acid and baking soda will promote the effectiveness of the soap.

Uses of Baking Soda and Citric Acid:

Baking soda for acidic stains:

Oil stains, sebum stains, tea stains, coffee stains, mold, vomit, kitchen waste odor, corruption odor, sweat stains, etc.

Citric acid for alkaline dirt:

Urine stains, water stains, fishy smell, cigarette smell, etc.

Join hands to deal with tough dirt:

Whether it is acidic or alkaline dirt, sprinkle baking soda (water) on it first. For serious dirt, you can scrub it first, then spray citric acid water (citric acid mixed with hot water is more effective), and use the changes in carbon dioxide caused by the neutralization of acid and alkali to produce foam and other substances to make the dirt float up and remove it.

PS: After cleaning the environment with baking soda, you can also spray citric acid water to prevent the growth of mold and bacteria!

Kitchen Tips

1. Sprinkle baking soda on the stove and stovetop, and then scrub them with a sponge dipped in water. It will have amazing results.

2. If the pot is burnt, you can directly scrub it with baking soda. For serious burnt stains, you can add baking soda and citric acid into the pot, and add water (the water level should be higher than the burnt area) and boil it. After the water boils, turn off the heat and let it sit overnight. It will usually be clean. If there are any residual burnt stains, just scrub it with a steel brush.

3. You can also sprinkle baking soda on the smelly garbage can in the kitchen to deodorize it!

A good helper for washing clothes

1. Baking soda can enhance the effectiveness of natural detergents

To increase the foam, you can save the amount of natural detergent. When washing clothes, you can add 1.25 to 2 times the number of grams of baking soda in liters (for example, for 40 liters of water, add 50g to 80g of baking soda). You can add the baking soda first or add it together with the detergent. As a reminder, if baking soda is added when washing polyester clothing, residue is likely to remain. You can wash them separately or soak them in citric acid water after washing.

2. Lemon acid water can soften clothes

Just like the 20% citric acid water ratio mentioned above, it can replace the overly fragrant softener on the market. It can not only soften clothes, but also neutralize the alkaline components remaining on clothes. You can add it directly to the softener inlet of the washing machine, or if the washing machine does not have this design, you must add it during the second wash, please do not add it at the beginning! It will turn the soap liquid back into oil! If you use 20% citric acid water, you can add the same number of milliliters as the number of liters of laundry (for example, for 40L of water, add about 40ml of citric acid water).

3. Wash your baby's clothes:

Except for clothes stained with urine and poop, for the rest of the clothes, you can scoop a tablespoon of baking soda and add it to the water to soak the clothes. Soak the clothes first and then add the baking soda (you can wash them the next day), and then use the water in the original basin to add detergent and scrub them. This can not only sterilize first but also save the amount of detergent. After washing, soak the clothes in 20% citric acid water (about 2 to 3 ml for a basin of clothes), or rinse the clothes again and then dry them. This can prevent the growth of mold and bacteria, and also soften your baby's clothes!
