What does blood lipids include?

When people reach old age, they are very likely to have high blood lipids. In addition, obese people are also at high risk of high blood lipids. Therefore, these people should go to the hospital regularly to check their blood lipids and closely monitor their blood lipid levels. If their blood lipids are found to be too high, they should be controlled in time, such as diet adjustment or medication control, etc. So when you go to the hospital to check your blood lipids, what specific items should be checked?

What does blood lipids include?

All blood lipids are combined with proteins to form lipoproteins. The basic structure of lipoprotein is a core of triglycerides with varying contents, surrounded by a layer of phospholipids, cholesterol and protein molecules. Lipoproteins are divided into chylomicrons CM, very low-density lipoprotein VLDL, low-density lipoprotein LDL, and high-density lipoprotein HDL according to their density. The main carriers of triglycerides are chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins, and the main carriers of cholesterol are low-density lipoproteins and high-density lipoproteins.

Causes

There are two sources of blood lipids in the human body, namely endogenous and exogenous. Endogenous blood lipids refer to blood lipid components synthesized in the liver, fat and other tissue cells of the human body; exogenous blood lipids refer to blood lipid components ingested from food. Specifically, endogenous blood lipids refer to a class of serum lipid substances secreted and synthesized by the human body itself. Endogenous blood lipids first pass through the liver and fat cells, and then combine with the cells and are released into the blood, where they become a source of energy for human metabolism and life activities. Compared with endogenous blood lipids, blood lipids that come from the outside and cannot be directly synthesized by the human body are called exogenous blood lipids. Most of these blood lipids are absorbed by the human body from the food we eat. After food is digested and absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract, lipids enter the blood and become blood lipids.

Under normal circumstances, exogenous blood lipids and endogenous blood lipids restrict each other, and the two increase and decrease at the expense of each other, jointly maintaining the balance of blood lipid metabolism in the human body. When the human body ingests lipids from food, the intestinal absorption of fat will increase, and the blood lipid level will rise. However, due to the increase in exogenous blood lipid levels, fat synthesis in the liver will be inhibited to a certain extent, thereby reducing the secretion of endogenous blood lipids. On the contrary, if the intake of exogenous fat is reduced during diet, the synthesis rate of endogenous blood lipids in the human body will be accelerated, thus avoiding low blood lipid levels. This will enable the body's blood lipid levels to always remain in a relatively balanced and stable state. It is precisely because of the existence of this restrictive relationship that the human body's blood lipid level can be maintained in a stable state. If you are affected by adverse factors for a long time, such as a high-fat, high-calorie diet, it will cause increased blood lipids and induce disease.

The blood in the human body is like the gasoline in a car. A high cholesterol or triglyceride content in the plasma is equivalent to a lot of impurities in the gasoline or a blocked oil line. The occurrence of hyperlipidemia and its complications is inevitable. Therefore, we should correctly understand hyperlipidemia, listen to the guidance and suggestions of experts, master some methods to regulate hyperlipidemia, eat properly, and usually drink formulas such as Cassia seed and oolong tea such as Juewu Tang Tea for a long time, insist on exercising, and implement them consistently. I believe that hyperlipidemia will be effectively controlled and develop in a benign way.

Under normal circumstances, blood lipids tend to be stable, but blood lipid levels are also easily affected by non-disease factors. For example, if someone's fasting blood lipids are normal, and he or she has a blood test for blood lipids 2 hours after eating a high-fat meal, he or she will find that the blood lipid level at this time is much higher than the usual fasting level. However, the effects of this diet are only temporary, and blood lipids usually return to normal after 3-6 hours. It is not difficult to understand that when you go to the hospital to check your blood lipids, the doctor asks you not to eat anything else after dinner and to fast for 12 hours before drawing your blood. Of course, short-term hunger can also cause a temporary increase in blood lipid levels due to the massive mobilization of stored fat.
