Can gastrointestinal bleeding heal itself?

The digestive tract is a relatively important part of our human body. The food we eat into the stomach needs to be digested by the digestive tract. There are also many problems in the digestive tract, such as indigestion. The digestive tract may also bleed, which may be because the food eaten is more irritating. Digestive tract bleeding can be treated, and some people choose to let it heal itself. So can digestive tract bleeding heal itself?

Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common clinical syndrome and can be caused by a variety of diseases. The digestive tract refers to the tube from the esophagus to the anus, including the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, colon and rectum. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding refers to bleeding in the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, upper jejunum, pancreatic duct and bile duct above the suspensory ligament of the duodenum (Treitz ligament). Intestinal bleeding below the suspensory ligament of the duodenum is called lower gastrointestinal bleeding. With the development of endoscopic technology, the new term "mid-digestive tract" has changed the traditional concept of segmentation of the digestive tract. The new definition uses the duodenal papilla and ileocecal valve as landmarks, dividing the digestive tract into the "upper digestive tract" (above the duodenal papilla), the "middle digestive tract" (from the duodenal papilla to the ileocecal valve), and the "lower digestive tract" (cecum, colon, and rectum).

1. It cannot heal itself. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is more commonly caused by gastrointestinal lesions such as gastritis or peptic ulcer. A common complication of gastric ulcer or duodenal ulcer is bleeding. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a check-up. It is best to do a gastroscopy or a gastrointestinal barium meal X-ray examination. The cause must be found. Frequent bleeding can cause bleeding and other lesions.

2. It usually won’t heal on its own. Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common clinical disease, which often endangers the patient's life due to its rapid onset and unclear diagnosis. Gastrointestinal bleeding is usually divided into upper gastrointestinal bleeding and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding refers to bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract above the Treitz ligament, including the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Rest in bed; observe the complexion and whether the skin of the limbs is cold, wet or warm; record blood pressure, pulse, blood loss and urine output per hour; maintain venous energy and measure central venous pressure. Keep the patient's airway open to avoid vomiting blood

Cause suffocation. Those with heavy bleeding should fast, while those with light bleeding can take appropriate liquid food. Most patients often have fever after bleeding, and generally do not need to use antibiotics. Balloon compression: It is an effective but only temporary nonsurgical treatment for controlling bleeding. Pay attention to the use of drugs. Try to use less or no drugs that are irritating to the stomach. If they must be used, drugs that maintain the gastric mucosa should be added.
