If the patient has excessive mucus and constipation, remove the buddleja vine and notopterygium wilfordii and add rhubarb.

2. Heat in the spleen and stomach

Treatment method: Clear heat and clear the bowels.

Prescription: Drink for purging the spleen and eliminating heat (Yinhai Jingwei) with modifications. Astragalus 10g, Saposhnikovia divaricata 9g, Cnidium monnieri 12g, Platycodon grandiflorum 6g, Rhubarb 10g, Scutellaria baicalensis 12g, Coptis chinensis 6g, Plantago seed 15 (packets), and Glauber's salt 10 (infusion). 3. Yin deficiency and excessive fire

Treatment method: Nourish yin and reduce fire.

Prescription: Zhibai Dihuang Decoction (Yi Zong Jin Jian) ​​with modifications. Anemarrhena asphodeloides 12g, Phellodendron chinense 12g, Rehmannia glutinosa 15g, Cornus officinalis 10g, Dioscorea batatas 15g, Moutan bark 12g, Alisma orientalis 12g, Poria 12g. Or you can also take Ganlu Drink (Hejijufang) at the same time. 15g of raw rehmannia, 15g of cooked rehmannia, 12g of capillaris, 12g of scutellaria, 10g of fructus aurantii, 12g of dendrobium, 10g of loquat leaf, 3g of licorice, 15g of asparagus, and 15g of ophiopogon. If the patient suffers from severe restlessness and insomnia, add Chinese jujube seeds, Polygonum multiflorum, Schisandra chinensis, etc.

(ii) Eye drop therapy: used for pterygium that does not require surgery or to prevent its recurrence after surgery. In addition to the aforementioned external medications, the following medications can be used.

(1) Quisqualis chinensis: Split it open with a knife, take the juice that flows out and apply it to the pterygium, twice a day.

(2) Take an appropriate amount of fresh goose grass, mash it into juice, boil it, add a little borneol, mix well and apply it on the pterygium. 1 to 2 times a day.

(3) Take a black plum, a little talcum powder and borneol, grind them into very fine powder, and apply it on the pterygium, 1 to 3 times a day.

(4) Peel the almonds and add appropriate amounts of honey, grind them into a paste, and apply a small amount on the pterygium, 1 to 2 times a day.

(5) Take an appropriate amount of duckweed and a small amount of borneol, grind them into very fine powder, and apply it on the pterygium, 1 to 2 times a day.

(6) 3g of borax and a small amount of borneol, grind them into very fine powder and apply to the eyes 1 to 2 times a day. Or add 3g of gallstones and prepare as above.

(7) 6g of Rhizoma Cibotii, 3g of green salt, and 30g of pig pancreas, grind them into a paste, apply a small amount to the eyes, 1 to 2 times a day.

(8) Grind 6g each of sand, weathered saltpeter, and borneol into a very fine powder. Apply a small amount to the pterygium. If the pain is severe, rinse with saline.
