Sometimes there is a tingling sensation on the inner thigh. Many people don’t pay much attention to it. The main symptom is a pain like a needle prick that lasts for one or two seconds. There are many reasons for this symptom, the main one is neurological. This condition occurs when a lumbar disc herniates due to compression of the nerves, and sometimes there is also a feeling of numbness in the thigh. This condition can also occur when there is local inflammation inside the thigh, and diabetic patients may also have this symptom. Thigh tingling refers to a short-lasting, needle-like pain in the groin with no fixed onset time. There are two common causes for this situation: lumbar disc herniation or local thigh inflammation. 1. Lumbar disc herniation Tingling pain in the thigh occurs due to compression of the nerves. If not diagnosed and treated in time, the pain will become more and more severe as the compression becomes more severe, and may eventually affect walking and may cause atrophy of the lower limbs. 2. Local inflammation of the thigh Needle-like pain occurs at the base of the thigh, which lasts for a short time and has no fixed onset time. In severe cases, it may affect walking and may also cause lower limb atrophy, affecting limb function. Degenerative changes such as narrowing of the intervertebral space and hyperplasia of the vertebral margins can sometimes be seen on X-rays, which is an indirect clue. Some patients may have spinal deviation and scoliosis. It can clearly show the location, size, shape of the intervertebral disc herniation and the compression and displacement of the nerve roots and dura mater sac. It can also show the thickening of the vertebral lamina and yellow ligament, hyperplasia of the facet joints, stenosis of the spinal canal and lateral recess, etc. It has great diagnostic value for this disease and is now widely used. Lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis is also known as paresthesia meralgia. The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is derived from the 2nd to 3rd lumbar nerves, passes through the lateral edge of the psoas major muscle, obliquely passes through the iliacus muscle, along the pelvis through the deep surface of the inguinal ligament, and passes through the lata fascia 10 cm below the anterior superior iliac spine to the thigh skin. During the course of this nerve, if the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is affected by compression, trauma, or other reasons, lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis may occur. It is more common in obese young and middle-aged men. The entrapment syndrome of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is a nerve dysfunction caused by compression of the nerve due to some pressure factors along its route. The focus of prevention is to reduce accumulated injuries. You should maintain a good sitting posture at ordinary times, and the bed should not be too soft when sleeping. People who work at a desk for a long time need to pay attention to the height of the table and chair and change their posture regularly. People who need to bend over frequently in their jobs should stretch their waists and chests regularly, and use a wide belt. The back muscle training should be strengthened to increase the intrinsic stability of the spine. |
