How to use glutaraldehyde disinfectant?

Glutaraldehyde disinfectant solution is a common disinfectant solution in daily life. The glutaraldehyde disinfectant solution is relatively efficient and has low toxicity. It can effectively kill bacteria and microorganisms. There are many ways to use glutaraldehyde disinfectant solution. It can be used to disinfect instruments, daily necessities, etc., and can also be used for sanitary products.

Function

Glutaraldehyde has a broad spectrum of microbial killing capabilities. A 2% alkaline glutaraldehyde solution can kill vegetative bodies in two minutes, viruses in 10 minutes, mycobacteria in 20 minutes, and bacterial spores in 3 hours. Therefore, glutaraldehyde can be used as a high-level disinfectant. If the exposure time (10 hours) is sufficient, it can also be used as a sterilant. In principle, the initial concentration of glutaraldehyde abroad should be higher than 2%. If used for disinfection, the exposure time should not be less than 20 minutes. If used for sterilization, the exposure time should be 10 hours. Since many factors can cause a decrease in the concentration of glutaraldehyde during use, such as polymerization of alkaline glutaraldehyde, dilution with water, frequency of use, volatilization and loss of disinfectant, etc., the concentration of glutaraldehyde must be monitored every day.

formula

This product is made of glutaraldehyde as the main raw material and is mixed with an appropriate amount of synergistic surfactant.

Function and characteristics

This product can kill bacterial propagules, fungi and spores. It is a colorless or slightly yellow clear liquid with the characteristics of broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity, safe use, low corrosiveness and good stability.

Scope of use

Used for sterilization of environments and items in industries such as diagnostic equipment, cosmetics, electronics, hotel industry, and sanitary products. For heat-resistant and moisture-resistant items, pressure steam and dry heat sterilization are preferred. For heat-resistant and moisture-resistant items, ethylene oxide gas sterilization can be used. If glutaraldehyde sterilization is the only option, the sterilized medical devices must be rinsed clean with sterile distilled water (physiological saline may be corrosive). Any medical product must be thoroughly cleaned before disinfection and sterilization; after cleaning, it must be dried before being immersed in glutaraldehyde solution to avoid dilution of glutaraldehyde.
