How to clean a dirty towel

How to clean a dirty towel

Towels are one of the most familiar items in our lives. We use towels every day when we wash our hands and faces. Since towels are used too frequently, in general, towels will become very dirty and hard after a short period of use, and will not have the soft feeling they once had. At this time, cleaning towels is a headache, as dirty towels are difficult to clean.

Small steps to clean dirty towels

1. First soak the dirty towel with water, apply some detergent, rub it clean with your hands, then wash the towel with clean water and wring it dry.

2. Put the towel into the pot and pour in boiling water. The water should cover the towel. Add some salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Then turn to medium-low heat and continue cooking for 15 minutes.

3. Take out the boiled towel, rinse it with cold water, wring it dry, hang it on the clothes rack, and place it in a sunny and well-ventilated place to dry.

Notes on boiling towels

1. If you are boiling multiple towels together, it is best to boil the solid-colored ones and the patterned ones separately. Otherwise, once the patterned towels fade, they will stain the other towels.

2. The container for boiling towels should be larger so that there is space for circulation between the boiling water and the towels.

3. Don’t forget to add salt, it can wash, sterilize and remove odors from towels! The amount of salt depends on the number of towels.

4. When boiling towels, be sure not to cover the lid and do not simmer them!

5. Be sure to rinse the boiled towel with clean water and then hang it in a sunny and well-ventilated place.
