Could headache be caused by a tumor?

Whether it is a headache, a cold, or a chill, these minor illnesses are very common around us. Some people experience headaches when they have these minor illnesses. However, some people will have wild thoughts without understanding the situation. For example, if they have a headache, is it a tumor? So we need to understand some common sense in life, so let’s find out whether headaches may be caused by tumors.

1. Be careful about headaches that start after age 50, because most people start having headaches in their twenties or thirties.

2. Blurred or abnormal vision occurs. Because brain tumors compress the brain, it will cause increased intracranial pressure. There is a nerve leading to the brain from the eye. At this time, you can go to the hospital for a fundus examination to observe whether there is papillary edema (or bleeding).

3. Along with the headache, there are local neurological symptoms, such as weakness on one side of the body, which may be related to problems with the brain; or the person becomes dull and slow to react (meningitis, cerebral edema and malignant tumors); intellectual deterioration may be related to frontal lobe lesions of the brain. If you have unsteady walking and clumsy hands and feet (these symptoms are the same as those of Parkinson's disease, but Parkinson's disease does not produce these symptoms within weeks or months), it may be related to bleeding or tumors caused by brain trauma.

4. The most painful headache in life, the first time, like the pain of an explosion (neck will be stiff), feeling as if the end of the world is coming, you are about to die. This is mostly caused by rupture of cerebral aneurysm, resulting in subarachnoid hemorrhage, and in severe cases, coma or death. Cerebral aneurysm is related to genetics.

5. If you have headaches for decades, it should not be a big problem. However, if the pain gets worse and painkillers are ineffective (do not take painkillers more than twice a week); or if the headache is worse when you wake up in the morning, further examination is necessary to determine whether it is related to brain disease. Most headaches are more painful in the afternoon due to work fatigue, lack of sleep, tension or stress, or hot weather. Usually, rest or painkillers will relieve the pain.
