What are the symptoms of embryonic biochemistry

Pregnant women are very nervous because they worry about the condition of the embryo. Especially in the first three months, if the embryo is not stable and there is no healthy embryo bud or fetal heartbeat, it means that the embryo is a failure. So what makes pregnant women nervous is the healthy growth of the embryo. There is a situation called embryonic biochemistry, which is not very familiar to most people and will not happen easily. But what are the symptoms of embryonic biochemistry?

1. What is biochemical pregnancy

Biochemical pregnancy means there is no clinical pregnancy. This symptom is now called subclinical miscarriage in medicine. It means that the sperm and egg combine but do not successfully return to the uterus to implant, resulting in miscarriage along with menstruation.

The sperm and egg combine to form a fertilized egg. Around the seventh day after fertilization, the fertilized egg differentiates into the trophoblast (the future placenta) and implants into the endometrium. Then, the cells of the trophoblast begin to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). During early pregnancy, HCG secretion increases rapidly, doubling in about 2-3 days. 14 days after fertilization, that is, about 30 days after menstruation, HCG can be detected in the blood, or it can be detected using an early pregnancy test strip.

In a normal pregnancy, not only can HGG be detected, but the gestational sac can also be seen on B-ultrasound. In a biochemical pregnancy, although the blood HCG is greater than 25 U/L or the urine HCG test is positive, no gestational sac can be detected under ultrasound and the pregnancy has terminated. It is precisely because of these characteristics of biochemical pregnancy that it is also called subclinical early embryo loss.

2. Embryo biochemical symptoms

1. B-ultrasound cannot see the presence of a gestational sac in the uterus.

2. A very low blood HCG value only means that you are pregnant, but it cannot indicate whether implantation is successful.

3. Generally, spontaneous abortion will occur within 50 days. A grayish-white film will flow out.

What are the causes of biochemical pregnancy?

Since it is impossible to collect specimens of biochemical pregnancy, the cause of biochemical pregnancy cannot be known exactly. It is generally believed that the causes of biochemical pregnancy are the same as those of spontaneous abortion, and embryonic chromosomal abnormalities may be the main cause of developmental stagnation. Through the analysis of biochemical pregnancies that occurred during the in vitro fertilization process, it was found that older women, such as those over 35 years old, poor egg quality, and poor embryo development are one of the causes of biochemical pregnancies.

The probability of biochemical pregnancy in women under natural conditions is currently unclear. Among spontaneous abortions occurring within the first three months of pregnancy, more than 50% have chromosomal abnormalities. Some scholars even speculate that 70% of pregnancies are aborted. It can be seen that abortion is, in a sense, a natural selection of the survival of the fittest. Women of childbearing age should not panic if they encounter such a situation, as biochemical pregnancy generally does not affect the next pregnancy. Unless this happens multiple times, it is necessary to go to the hospital for further examination.

4. What should you pay attention to after biochemical pregnancy

Biochemical pregnancy is caused by the poor quality of the fertilized egg that fails to implant successfully. Because of the failure to implant, it does not cause damage to the uterus. It is just equivalent to the menstrual period coming a few days late this month. So ladies don’t need to worry too much.

Notes on biochemical pregnancy:

1. Biochemical pregnancy does not require uterine curettage, but regular monitoring of blood HCG is required to observe its growth, which can determine whether the gestational sac is alive or has been expelled from the body. Blood HCG is produced by the fertilized egg, and the channel through which the sperm and egg combine is the fallopian tube. To a certain extent, it can be said that biochemical pregnancy means that the fallopian tube is unobstructed. After making sure that blood HCG has dropped to normal levels, you can plan your next pregnancy.

2. If the B-ultrasound examination shows that the body is in good condition, you can wait a month or three months to have a baby.

3. Be careful not to have sex immediately after the biochemical pregnancy ends, so that the uterus can rest.

5. Is it easy to get pregnant after a biochemical pregnancy?

If you have a biochemical pregnancy, it means, to some extent, that your fallopian tubes are unobstructed. Many mothers have had this experience as well, and it is easier to get pregnant after a biochemical pregnancy.

Studies have shown that the miscarriage rate for women who become pregnant again within 3 months after a miscarriage is 16%-20%. Compared with women who become pregnant again after more than 3 months, the miscarriage rate for those who become pregnant again at any time after a miscarriage is not significantly increased. They also found that the miscarriage rate was significantly higher for those whose pregnancy interval was more than one year than for those who became pregnant within one year.

Therefore, as long as the miscarriage is clean and the uterus recovers well, you can prepare for another pregnancy immediately.

6. Does biochemical pregnancy require uterine curettage?

Biochemical pregnancy means that the fertilized egg does not implant into the bed, which is similar to miscarriage and does not require uterine curettage. It is recommended to do an ultrasound 3-7 days after the bleeding stops to check the intrauterine condition. If the urine test is negative, a biochemical pregnancy can be diagnosed and no treatment is required.
